Enemy 5/2 FAV in Henry II Stakes Racing Odds

ENEMY dominated proceedings on his penultimate run when he scored a hot contest at Musselburgh on Easter Sunday.

He was then sent to the Sagaro Stakes at Ascot four weeks ago.

He was making a big case for himself in that one.

But luck was against Enemy on the day at Ascot, when the winner (Princess Zoe) squeezed him out of space in the final furlong.

Enemy would have been right there at the line if that had not happened.

He is unexposed on this 2m trip, but he is a big, interesting player.

Enemy is the current 5/2 favourite in Henry II Stakes racing odds* (odds recorded at 18:59 GMT on May 25th, 2022 at Coral).

Thunderous
10/3

Thunderous stakes his claim

THUNDEROUS makes up part of a big three in the Henry II Stakes on Thursday at Sandown.

He has been going very well this season with back to back runner up finishes in some hot contests.

Thunderous needed his reappearance run, before going to the Ormonde Stakes at Chester in which he took a credible second.

Then it was on to the Yorkshire Cup a couple of weeks ago, where he found only the great Stradivarius too good for him.

Thunderous will have the visor for the first time on Thursday and has shaped like he really needs this 2m trip.

Thunderous has some big claims at 10/3 in our Henry II Stakes tips* (odds recorded at 18:59 GMT on May 25th, 2022 at Coral).

Can Quickthorn handle a familiar foe again?

QUICKTHORN met Enemy at the Sagaro Stages on his latest run and he claimed the runner up spot in that, ahead of his rival.

As noted above, Enemy was out of luck as he ran out of room.

So can Quickthorn get the better of that rival again, because if he does then he should be close to landing the score?

It’s been back to back runners-up finishes for Quickthorn this season.

So he has been in good form. The last win for Quickthorn was at last year’s Royal Ascot.

There is no reason why he shouldn’t be involved in this from 7/2 and warrants respect in Henry II Stakes tips* (odds recorded at 18:59 GMT on May 25th, 2022 at Coral).

John Leeper the best of the rest behind the big three?

There was a fourth place finish for John Leeper on his reappearance run, which was at the Ormonde at Chester.

He had Thunderous ahead of him on that one.

John Leeper was never really in the frame for the victory in that one, however.

It was a credible run for where he’s at.

However it suggested that he will need a massive step forward in improvement to knock over three strong rivals on Thursday.

Last year John Leeper claimed a Listed victory at Newmarket, starting up some hype.

But there really hasn’t been enough progress for him since then.

John Leeper is a quote of 6/1 in the horse racing tips* (odds recorded at 18:59 GMT on May 25th, 2022 at Coral).

Can veteran Euchen Glen get in it?

EUCHEN GLEN claimed a win on this card last year but is going to have a lot of his place to take this.

That victory was in the Brigadier Gerrard and he scored it well, too.

Euchen Glen had a reappearance run at Doncaster two months ago in which he was sixth.

He’s still hugely popular, but would need something out of the top drawer to push for a place finish from 12/1* (odds recorded at 18:59 GMT on May 25th, 2022 at Coral)

The rest of the runners – Henry II Stakes Tips

ALOUNAK comes up on the trip and will likely give a very good account of himself. He made a solid reappearance with a third place finish in the Ormonde at Chester three weeks ago.

Alounak was in winning form last spring and put in a credible third at the Ebor twelve months ago.

NATE THE GREAT has won two of his last three efforts, and scored by a wide margin at Newmarket a couple of weeks ago.

He was carrying a big claimer on the way there, but this is a big step in grade for him on Thursday. Not a total forlorn hope, to be fair.

RODRIGO DIAZ hasn’t gotten anywhere near the positive and progressive kind of form that he was showing last spring.

He’s been well held on both efforts this season. Connections turn to the tongue tie on his return to the UK.

Predictions & Tips for Henry II Stakes Racing Odds

The winner of the Henry II Stakes renewal is likely to come from one of the big three at the head of the betting market.

Our first Henry II Stakes tip is THUNDEROUS at 10/3* (odds recorded at 18:59 GMT on May 25th, 2022 at Coral).

A second to Stradivarius in the Yorkshire Cup was no disgrace and he lost nothing before that in a runner up in the Ormonde. Thunderous could thrive at this distance.

ENEMY should have a reasonable chance of turning the table on QUICKTHORN when the two square off again.

Had the Sagaro Stakes panned out a little more in favour of the former, then Enemy may well have claimed the win there.

At 5/2 and 7/2 respectively, they both get on the shortlist for this fascinating renewal at Sandown* (odds recorded at 18:59 GMT on May 25th, 2022 at Coral).
