Howe Bournemouth manager can challenge Jose for honours

LMA Manger of the Year Award

Football News

There is suddenly a two way race in the LMA Manager of the year 2014/15 betting. Who will be crowned the best manager in the country? This is the league manager of the year award and it is voted on by fellow manager and the winner can come from any of the top four professional leagues in England.

With Chelsea running close to a Premier League title, and with them and the other English entrants in the UEFA Champions League this season all bombing before the quarter final stage, the winning manager of the Premier League was always likely to be a frontrunner for the title. That is the case, with Jose Mourinho running at a quote of 11/8 for the honour, especially with the Blues not having lost at home this season.

But a new contender has flown up the charts after having a heavy price cut and that is Eddie Howe. Thanks to his exploits in earning Bournemouth promotion to the top flight, Howe has been trimmed heavily into a price of 7/4 with online betting site Bet Victor. He has done a highly impressive job with the Cherries making them a wonderfully skilled attacking powerhouse. It paid dividends when they beat Bolton 3-0 at Dean Court on Monday to book their place in next season’s Premier League.

Beyond that you have Ronald Koeman at 5/1 and Alan Pardew at 6/1 and then everyone else in the country is in double figures. So a straight shot between Jose Mourinho and Eddie Howe. You know who would win the popularity stakes, so will it be the enterprising Howe to pip the tactical genius of Mourinho to the title?
