Huddersfield Town News and Form – Tough test for the Terriers?
Huddersfield Town’s two-year stay in the top flight came to a horrible end last season, as the Terriers finished rock bottom of the Premier League with just 16 points to their name. Town claimed a mere three league victories, losing a staggering 28 times along the way.
Huddersfield would love an instant return to the top tier, but with so many top teams in this year’s Championship, that will be a very tough task. Siewert has been a busy man over the summer, bringing the likes of Tommy Elphick, Kamil Grabara and Josh Koroma to the club. Meanwhile, Isaac Mbenza’s move from Montpellier was made permanent.
In the opposite direction, Huddersfield have lost the likes of Philip Billing, Erik Durm, Tommy Smith, and several others important players. Their squad has changed drastically since relegation was confirmed, but will Town have enough to compete at the top end of the table?
Since taking over from David Wagner, Siewert has tasted victory at Huddersfield just once. It’s difficult to predict how the Terriers will get on in the Championship this season, but can they get off to a winning start?

Derby County start life after Frank Lampard with a tough trip to the John Smith’s Stadium on Monday night. However, new boss Phillip Cocu is a very experienced manager, and the Rams are capable of finishing in the top six once again.
County reached the play-offs last season, going on to beat Leeds United in the semi-finals. Unfortunately for them, the Rams were beaten 2-1 by Aston Villa in the Wembley Stadium final. In the regular Championship season, Derby won 20, drew 14 and lost 12 to pick up 69 points.
They were decent on the road, winning seven times, but their form at home was particularly strong. County sealed 46 points at Pride Park, with only promoted Sheffield United and Norwich City (both with 49) accumulating more home points.
Lampard left for Chelsea in the summer, while the likes of Mason Mount and Harry Wilson have returned to their parent clubs. Craig Bryson, Bradley Johnson and David Nugent have also left Pride Park.
Reaching the play-offs again will be number one priority for the Rams. At the time of writing, Derby are priced at 9/4 to finish in the top six and 5/1 for promotion.
