Hamilton for clean sweep in Hungary?

Sports Betting

Well, this could be a huge weekend for Lewis Hamilton in his quest to land the Drivers Championship title this season. After his romp to victory at Silverstone last time out, Hamilton is now the shortest price that he has been so far this season (8/13 at bookmaker Ladbrokes) to go and win the Drivers Championship this term. He is running in form and with a fantastic track record before in his career in Hungary, he is red hot 5/6 odds-on favourite at Ladbrokes to win on the weekend.

Hamilton has won this race five times before in his career, including last season’s victory there. Following his win at Silverstone, he has pulled to within one point now of championship leader Sebastian Vettel. So Hamilton could pull ahead of his rival this weekend and he is the man to beat in F1 at the moment. Since Canada really, he has been unstoppable (as long as his car has been working) and only mechanical failures did him in at Austria and Azerbaijan. Other than that, no-one has been able to catch him.

With Sebastian Vettel not having claimed a win since Monaco back in May and with him having just the one podium finish in the last four races (second place in Austria) then he is struggling and will be feeling the pressure from not only Hamilton but Hamilton’s team mate Valtteri Bottas as well. Bottas who has a win and three-second place finishes in his last four drives has been quietly edging his way into the title race and starts the weekend just 23 points back of leader Vettel in the Drivers Championship.

Vettel has won in Hungary before, back in 2015 before Hamilton wrestled back supremacy with his win last term. Along with Vettel having to deal with Hamilton and Bottas though, the Red Bull challenges from Ricciardo and Verstappen could come into play in this one because the car will be suited to the track so that is something which will put extra pressure on the German. There should be a tough scrap for a top three finish in this one.

Hungarian Grand Prix 2017 Betting Odds

Lewis Hamilton 5/6, Sebastian Vettel 10/3, Valtteri Bottas 9/2, Max Verstappen 12/1, Daniel Ricciardo 12/1, Kimi Raikkonen 14/1, bar 250/1

It is Hamilton who is looking bang in form at the moment and it may well be worth tripling up on him to have a perfect weekend. Hamilton is 5/6 favourite to gain Pole Position for the race and he has produced some stunning qualification laps over the last few races to go from the front. He is also trading at a quote of 10/11 to land the fastest lap in the race as well. Why not throw them all together?
