Natural History the 4/1 FAV for Imperial Cup Handicap Hurdle

So heading up the market as the 4/1 favourite is NATURAL HISTORY* (betting odds recorded at 22:57 GMT on March 12th, 2021).

He looks a very promising sort and was a very smart performer on the flat. On the move to the hurdles, he earned back to back runners-up places.

Both were solid enough runs with a bit of greenness early on. But then all the pieces came together brilliantly when he tore it up at Plumpton last time out to get off the mark.

That handicap win was 12 days ago and Natural History will be feeling more pressure here having been raised 16lb.

There’s still plenty of scope for him from the current mark, however.

Langer Dan poses a big threat at 2m

Another of the likely big players in this field is LANGER DAN who is the 5/1 second-favourite as it stands in Imperial Cup Handicap Hurdle betting* (betting odds recorded at 22:57 GMT on March 12th, 2021).

On his reappearance, which was also his first run since a wind op, Langer Dan put in an eye-catching run to take a fourth palace finish at Market Rasen.

He will be re-opposing a couple that finished ahead of him in that contest, but it was the finish in that 2m 1f trip that was interesting.

Langer Dan was off the pace early on, but then it clicked and he was finishing very well. He’s definitely an interesting contender in this field.

Miranda can show well in an easier contest

Back in January this year MIRANDA secured a brilliant Grade 2 win at Doncaster and that was against her own sex in the group 2 Yorkshire Rose Mares’ Hurdle.

Miranda had opened the season with a win at Ludlow as well and has become a very smart hurdler at this distance.

She certainly looks good enough to be in this and Miranda is a good 14/1 each-way option to consider for horse racing betting* (betting odds recorded at 22:57 GMT on March 12th, 2021).

She will be dealing with the top weight in this fixture.

But there is a very useful 7lb conditional in charge in the form of Angus Cheleda. That could help bolster a bold bid by Miranda.

Leoncavallo seeks a double

There was a victory last time out for LEONCAVALLO who was last in this sphere back in July last year. In that fixture, he beat Oscar Rose by 13l in a novices’ chase at Stratford.

Leoncavallo has won six hurdles and a chase from 2m to 2m 5f so is a handy operator.

The 9-year-old was last seen at Newmarket last year in October on the flat, scoring a 6th place finish in a whopping field of 34 in the Cesarewitch.

Even though it’s been a while since he has been in national hunt, Leoncavallo was showing a good attitude and pace on the flat which should have helped keep him sharp.

He is an interesting contender from a 17/2 mark* (betting odds recorded at 22:57 GMT on March 12th, 2021).

One True King’s yard could give him a chance

ONE TRUE KING, trained by Nigel Twiston-Davies comes from a yard that has a good record in this. There has been form from him this season.

He has won in the maiden and novice realms this season over the timbers and in the Autumn he was on show at Cheltenham for a couple of handicaps.

There were some notably good efforts from one True King in those as well, taking runners-up finishes. So he has some potential.

One True King finished third on his latest race, which was a very respectable effort in an Ascot novice.

He piques some interest and claims from a 15/2 quote* (betting odds recorded at 22:57 GMT on March 12th, 2021).

Others to note

MISS HERITAGE is thriving at the moment having taken four runners-up finishes and a win in her last five.

The win was in her penultimate race at Warwick. She’s a battler and was also a dual winner last term.

MICK MAESTRO still looks to be in top form when he was third at Market Rasen last time out, just getting beaten to second by Miss Heritage.

Mick Maestro was right there but made a mistake at the last to slip back.

EAMON AN CNOIC is a useful sort over the fences and scored at course and distance last month on a what is a lower mark in hurdling.

He followed that up with a second at Chepstow seven days later. There’s a serious 9lb bump in the ratings for him, however.

The final one is HADANAB who made a winning start to life over the hurdles on his debut at Southwell on a 2m trip in September. He hasn’t won since but looks to be carrying some pretty decent form and potential.

Predictions & Tips for Imperial Cup Handicap Hurdle Racing Odds

This is a cracking race and our horse racing tip for Imperial Cup Handicap Hurdle betting is MIRANDA at 14/1 e/w* (betting odds recorded at 22:57 GMT on March 12th, 2021).

She was dominant against her own sex landing a Grade 2 in at Doncaster on her last trip. She does have a lot on her plate being at top-weight, but we can’t help but think that her 7lb conditional jockey is going to play a big part.

LANGER DAN’S yard is in form at the moment and we think that he has something to bring to the table in this one.

He just looks to be very well treated in the ratings as well for this one and he had a really excellent reappearance.

The final section in this is ONE TRUE KING who is showing some nice potential.

He performed very well at Ascot last month on a longer trip, and with a couple of wins at Leicester and Uttoxeter this season, we think that he brings some fair claims to the table.
