Inter News and Form – Can Inter beat Dortmund?
It was a poor start that Inter had to this campaign. They only managed a 1-1 draw at home against Slavia Prague. They followed that with a loss against Barcelona. So that leaves them with some ground to make up in this difficult group. It is a four-match winless streak of European form that Inter are on at the moment (D2 L2). They have only produced two goals in that sequence as well.
In last season’s campaign, Inter had won their opening two games. But they couldn’t do enough over their remaining games to get themselves through to the knockout stages, only taking one point more. Before they lost against Eintracht Frankfurt in the last sixteen of the Europa League last season, Inter were on a six-match undefeated streak of European form. That loss though was their fourth straight home defeat against German visitors.

Borussia Dortmund News and Form – Can Dortmund take three points at Inter?
Borussia Dortmund have taken two wins in their last seven Champions League games and that is it (D2 L3). So they haven’t been on top of their game in the competition for a little while now. On match day two they took a 2-0 win over Slavia Prague though, to add to their point earned at home against Barcelona in their opening group fixture.
BVB have taken three wins in their last 13 European away games (D4 L6) so that has been an area in which they have struggled. But as a positive, three of those wins have come in their last five away games in the UEFA Champions League. Their last visit to Italy was in the 2017/18 Europa League when they faced Atalanta.
Dortmund took a 1-1 draw in Italy which helped them secure a 4-3 aggregate win in the round of 32 tie. Dortmund are W3 D2 L4 in their last nine games in Italy. That is actually quite a drastic improvement because they had lost their first seven away games played there. Even with their dodgy away form, they will recognise that Inter are far from great.

Dortmund to win: While it is Inter who need to get their form going, Dortmund look the more likely of the two. Inter haven’t impressed in their opening games and BVB carries a big enough attacking threat to go and grab three points.
