Race Details

The second race of the day from Fonner Park is this 4f Claiming Race. There are 10 entered for the action on the dirt.

Race Favourite

Taylor’s Beauty is heading up the racing betting market for this contest at 5/2* (betting odds taken from Betfair at 20:44 GMT on Sunday, 28th March 2020). She took a second-place finish on her last trip, which was at the venue. Her last three runs have been at Fonner Park. Taylor’s Beauty looks to be trending towards a win and it wouldn’t come out of turn.

Claims

Aunt Gayle has been knocking on the door as well recently, also having been in action at the venue. Her last two runs have seen her claim a third and a second. The latter result was in early March.

So it has been a good 2020 from the six-year-old who is looking to secure her first win since Prairie Meadows in early August 2019. Aunt Gayle will have plenty of backing at 10/2* (betting odds taken from Betfair at 20:44 GMT on Sunday, 28th March 2020).

Feels Right has taken back to back third-place finishes, runs which have been at Fonner Park. Those were both this month as well, so she looks to have great place claims at the very least in this competitive lineup. Her last victory happened in September last year at Remington Park, so she will be looking to break a winless streak since then.

E/W Pick

I’m A Danger at 14/1 will be the each-way pick for this race* (betting odds taken from Betfair at 20:44 GMT on Sunday, 28th March 2020). Her last run was at Fonner Park where she claimed a fifth in early March. That was her first outing since early September, so will be better for it. On her previous trip to Fonner Park, she did score a win.

Tip

Taylor’s Beauty does look to be the pick of the bunch in this field. It actually looks like a good, competitive card, but the favourite is justified. There have been solid runs on the track from her recently and she’s had some near misses. She should score in this company.

Race Details

There are 8 runners entered for this contest on the dirt in Nebraska. It is a 6 Claiming Race.

Race Favourite

I’m A Rock is running as the market favourite for this one at 11/4* (betting odds taken from Betfair at 20:44 GMT on Sunday, 28th March 2020). His last three runs have been at Fonner Park which should leave him in good stead for a challenge.

His last two at the venue have been third-place finishes for him. The one negative about him is that he hasn’t delivered a win since an Allowance race back in March of 2018, so it’s been a while.

Claims

I Call Shotgun placed third on his last outing, which was at the venue in late February. Like the favourite in this race, I Call Shotgun has been waiting to break a long winless streak. That recent effort at Fonner Park was the first time that he had been out since a trip at Remington Park in mid-December. So he should strip the fitter here.

Fantastic Warrior claimed a third-place finish on his last run at the venue. That was back in February and has been arrested since. So there’s a good chance for him in this one and if you take out a poor run at Delta Downs in January, he has taken a top-three finish in four of his last five trips, including a win at Atokad.

E/W Pick

Bluegale would have to be the each-way pick for the contest out at 14/1* (betting odds taken from Betfair at 20:44 GMT on Sunday, 28th March 2020) which looks generous. The ten-year-old has had just the one run this year which ended in a calamitous 10th place finish. But that was the only trip he’s been on since August.

Tip

We cannot see beyond I’m A Rock for this contest. This isn’t a particularly strong field and the consistency has been there from him. He’s also back on familiar ground with his last three runs have been at Fonner Park. Easily the one to beat in this field.

Race Details

This is the sixth race of the day from Fonner Park and it’s in the early hours of Tuesday 31st March, so just watch the timing. There are eight entered for the contest and it is over a 6f trip on the dirt.

Race Favourite

Mongol Call heads up the market for this one at 7/4* (betting odds taken from Betfair at 20:44 GMT on Sunday, 28th March 2020). She heads back into action after scoring a win last time out. That was the venue as well, so the natural claims are the here. She has been on the up for some time and that win just confirmed his status.

Claims

Stalker delivered a second-place finish at Fonner Park on her last run. That hinted that she is finally returning to form after a sixth-place finish at the venue on her first effort of 2020. She’s a well-experienced mare but without the winning form to really suggest that she will take down the favourite. Stalker is looking for her first score since May last year.

Zyxyz disappointed supporters on her last run as she was 7th at Fonner Park. That was recently on March 23rd and came after banking a good second place in an Allowance Optional Claiming race at the venue earlier in the month. She did strike up a win in Columbus last August, her 5th win from 27 starts.

E/W Pick

A Kiss Goodnight goes as each-way picks in this one. She scored a win at Fonner Park at the start of March which raises some claims for her. She may be well worth respecting off the back of that. She turned to the track a couple of weeks later and only managed a fifth. But the recent win should give her a chance of making it into the money places with a good run on the day.

Tip

After scoring a recent win, Mongol Call is the clear favourite here and we wouldn’t go out and oppose her. She looks strong enough to handle herself in this kind of company. The rest of the challengers do appear to be on the hunt for either form or consistency. Mongol Call gets the nod.

Race Details

This race is actually going off at 01:09 GMT on Tuesday, March 31st, so just look out for the timing on this one. This is a 1m contest at Fonner Park on the dirt. It’s a straight claiming race.

Race Favourite

Banjo Bill brings form to proceedings. He scored a win on his last outing which was at the venue. That was his second run of the year after stepping out at the same venue in mid-February and taking a third-place finish. That was the first run that he took since May 2019, so immediately returned to hot form.

Claims

It has been back to back third-place finishes for Point Hope. The most recent one of those was at Fonner Park on March 24th. He is a good solid horse and has been in the top three in three of his last four runs. He hasn’t won since July last year, however, so that will raise a little doubt, but could push for a place.

Dance For Ransom brings winning form with him back to Fonner Park. He scored there in mid-February with a good run and it saw him peak in form that he had been trending towards. There was certainly something strong enough there from him to warrant some serious considerations for this contest.

E/W Pick

The best way pick for the contest will be Be Stormy. What makes him an interesting entry is that it will be his first showing after a long break. He hasn’t run since early September last year.

He came up with back to back wins in August 2019 and so there is potential perhaps to see him pull into a place claim. At 33/1 each-way, he could be worth some consideration* (betting odds taken from Betfair at 20:44 GMT on Sunday, 28th March 2020)

Tip

Dance For Ransom is going to get our nod in this one. He stepped out really well to win his first race after a couple of month’s break in scoring at Fonner Park in mid-February. That was a great showing and he is worth considering to go and land the double. Dance For Ransom is wonderfully consistent and could show up the field.
