Let’s start at the top for this 6f maiden claiming race for three-year-olds. This one is on the main track at Gulfstream (dirt). Gran Champagne leads the market at 9/4* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 19:11 GMT on Thursday 27th March 2020).

He made his racecourse debut at course and distance last month and was third from 10/1 in a field of seven. A big prospect and warrants a lot of respect in this one.

Bourbon Street has placed once in three starts and can bring himself into calculations based on that. He claimed a second-place finish in a field of seven on his last outing at Gulfstream, which was over the 6f distance in early March.

Bourbon Street could easily head to the start shorter than the current 6/1 odds on him* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 19:11 GMT on Thursday 27th March 2020).

Tapi Frost may have enough in this kind of company to get into the mix as well. He has claimed two place finishes from five starts.

Tapi Frost was last out at course and distance in February and didn’t make an impact in a tougher race from a 22/1 SP at all. This may be a more manageable quality of race for him.

This is a 6f claiming race on the dirt at Gulfstream which is open to Fillies and Mares of at least 4 years. Queen Kantharos is the front runner in the market, but after a disappointing mid-field finish from a 28/1 mark on her last course and distance effort, she is worth taking on.

Sabina Park comes down in class and that should pull her well into contention. On her last run at Gulfstream at distance, she was a fourth of sixth.

But on the performance there and again, the drop in class, she may have a chance from an appealing 11/2 quote* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 19:11 GMT on Thursday 27th March 2020).

But as the main pick in this Gulfstream action, we are going for Looking For More who will be out for the first time for a new stable.

She easily merits some respect as she wasn’t far out of the picture on a 1m trip at the venue earlier this month. It is not the strongest of cards and Looking For More could rise to the top.

Chase Runner 11/4
Lapochka 11/4

Krachenwagen 9/2

Two Step Slew 20/1

This is a 1m sprint in a claiming race on the Gulfstream dirt on Friday evening. Chase Runner brings some good form to the table for this one.

He posted a second-place finish, outrunning big 22/1 odds in a field of seven over 7f at Gulfstream recently. That gives him great claims for this one.

Up there at the head of the market is Lapochka who has to be competitive in this one. He has won five races from 1m to 1m 1f so this is right in the wheelhouse for the experienced seven-year-old.

On his last outing which was at the course and distance earlier in March, he claimed a win from a 10/1 SP.

So good claims are knocking around and Krachenwagen may just be a little underrated for the contest at 9/2* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 19:11 GMT on Thursday 27th March 2020).

He produced a very impressive 5l win earlier this month at course and distance from a 19/2 quote. While Krachenwagen has been much better respected in this market, he has every chance at striking for what would be a fourth win from 5f to 1m.
