This is a 1m 2f Group 3 contest for 4-year-olds and above. It is a field of 12 on good going on the turf of Rosehill Gardens. This is a good looking contest as well.
We are going straight to Maid Of Ore, a well-rated mare who has been well-supported in the betting market for this one. From the 11/2 mark she has some claims as to racing betting value.
She looks to be a very consistent, solid runner and was third on her racecourse debut in early March. That was in a field of ten from 14/1.
The favourite for this one Life Less Ordinary has experience at the top levels of racing and will be favoured coming back down to Group 3. That follows some tough recent efforts at higher levels.
His last run was at Group 3 at the venue where he took fourth of nine in mid-March. He doesn’t look like a total banker.
Mount Tabora actually is our e/w pick from 12/1 in this contest* (betting odds taken from betfair at 05:41 GMT on Friday 28th March 2020). He was beaten by a short head on a Caulfield handicap at the end of January.
Has since been gelded and that was his first run for new trainers Peter & Paul Snowden. Mount Tabora looks to have a good shot at getting in the money.
Tip: We are taking a pass on the favourite for this one and are leaning towards Maid Of Ore. There has been some nice progress there, enough just to hint that the mare can take this one.

The front runner for this Group 1 fixture from Rosehill, which is the Kia Tancred Stakes is Verry Elleegant. This will be a 1m 4f trip for the runners on the turf.
Four-year-old Verry Elleegant has been knocking on the door since mid-February. He wouldn’t be winning out of turn at all if he was to score in this one.
He was trading as the clear 11/10 favourite on Friday* (betting odds taken from betfair at 05:41 GMT on Friday 28th March 2020).
Verry Elleegant has claimed a second-place finish in his last two runs, which were both Group 1. The most recent of which was at Rosehill on a 1m 2f trip on March 21st and he was beaten out by just a half a length in that one. Jockey James McDonald is 7-19 in the last 14 days.
Mugatoo with claims
Mugatoo will have some claims as well, despite being a beaten favourite last time out, also at Rosehill like Verry Elleegant. The five-year-old gelding, scored at Canberra in early March.
He followed that up with that second by half a length at course and distance last weekend. He’s a serious contender at 6/1* (betting odds taken from betfair at 05:41 GMT on Friday 28th March 2020).
Mustajeer brings longer value
For a little longer value, seven-year-old Mustajeer has delivered some form recently. He goes from 15/2 for this contest* (betting odds taken from betfair at 05:41 GMT on Friday 28th March 2020).
Mustajeer won at Rosehill in late February before following it up with a second-place effort at Group 3 at the venue in heavy going in mid-March. He seems to have rediscovered himself a bit and could bring in since each way appeals.
Tip: We have to roll with Verry Elegant here, as the New Zealand runner has been holding himself superbly well in Group 1 contests and can handle this company.

This is another of the day’s feature Group 1 races from Rosehill Gardens. This is the Vinery Stud Stakes for 3-year-old Filles. It’s a 1m 2f trip on the Turf for the runners.
Funstar will take some beating
Funstar leads the market at 5/6 odds after a score at the venue in mid-March* (betting odds taken from betfair at 05:41 GMT on Friday 28th March 2020).
She beat out Probabeel by one and a quarter lengths in that one. Funstar has faced Probabeel in each of her last four races and has won three of them. That’s been five wins from seven starts (two second-places) for Funstar.
She will have James McDonald in the saddle as well who has bagged a 37% strike rate in the last fourteen days. Funstar is going to take some stopping in this one.
Can Probabeel turn the tables?
So can Probabeel get the better of her foe? This is slightly more unfamiliar territory for her in terms of distances. The win that she took over Funstar at Randwick in late February was on a 7f trip, by a neck.
She, like her foe, has had plenty of Group 1 experience, but her rival seems the more likely of the two to score.
Asiago for the e/w
For some each way value at 20/1 odds, we are going to drop down the field to Asiago* (betting odds taken from betfair at 05:41 GMT on Friday 28th March 2020). She has five wins from eleven starts in her career, and did score at Kembla Grange in mid-March.
This is a big step up in the company for her but there has been nothing but positives from her. In that Kembla Grange win she beat Shout The Bar and on a score at Newcastle in November last year beat Game Of Thrones. Asiago’s one to watch.
Tip: It has to be the favourite Funstar here who has proven on a few occasions that she has the beating of Probabeel and she looks as if she’ll handle the extra trip just that little bit better.

This is some handicap action to round off the card for Saturday at Rosehill Gardens. This is a seven and a half furlong Group 3 handicap. It’s open to 3 year olds and above.
Star Of The Seas the favourite
Star Of The Seas is heading up the racing betting market for this one at 3/1* (betting odds taken from betfair at 05:41 GMT on Friday 28th March 2020). That comes after scoring on his last trip which was at the venue in mid-March.
That was a trip which was two furlongs shorter, however. He did claim a course and distance win in May last year as the SP FAV. But didn’t win again until that venue return this March.
Cuba and Gaulois with outsider claims
Cuba delivered a win in March at Canberra in a 7f handicap, which was a career-best effort from him. That was the fourth win for the five-year-old and it could give him some claims to step up and run for a place finish in this one.
Gaulois may just be a little underrated for the fixture as he is capable of producing. The five-year-old won a 1m handicap in mid-February from 13/5 and wasn’t disgraced on a trip in early March at Newcastle either up in a Group 3 handicap.
He was fifth in a field of fourteen, four and a half lengths back of the winner. The Godolphin horse can mount a challenge and is value e/w at 10/1* (betting odds taken from betfair at 05:41 GMT on Friday 28th March 2020).
Tip: With Star Of the Seas not being the most consistent of runners, we are looking down the field at some hopeful progress to be made by Gaulois in among stronger company.
