Race Details

This Tuesday action from Will Rogers Downs is a 6f Claiming race. There are seven entered for the contest on the dirt.

Race Favourite

Keanna heads up the market at 9/1* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 02:06 GMT on Monday, 30th March 2020). She broke her maiden on just her second attempt and that happened at Will Rogers Downs in May last year.

She has had just the two races since then. The last effort from the filly was finishing at the back of the pack at Remington in an Allowance in December. Back on the dirt at Will Rogers, she should be in better shape after a long absence.

Claims

Apple County had a near miss on her last run. The mare came home second at the venue, her best effort from some time. Apple Country brings a stack more experience to the table than the outright favourite. She has placed in two of her last three trips to Will Rogers Downs. So at the very least brings place claims with her on a return.

Nurse List scored a win on her last trip. That was at the venue just over a week ago when she broke her maiden. That had been definite signs of progression from her in making that breakthrough. It will be fascinating to see how she pushes on now and she does head back to the track warranting some respect.

E/W Pick

Seven year old Tocdirtytome has experience on her side. Her form has been pretty tidy as she is consistently in the mix for a place. She had a fairly long layout since a trip in early December, before reappearing at Will Rogers in the middle of this month.

She put in a respectable run on that return taking fourth. Could be more to come from her and is worth a look at 8/1* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 02:06 GMT on Monday, 30th March 2020)

Tip

We can see just enough to take on the favourite in this early race from the track. To do that we do that with the experience of Apple County. She is a wonderfully consistent horse and she is taking on some relatively unexposed company in this one and could score.

Race Details

This one has ten entered for the contest. It is a 1m trip on the dirt for those involved in the action.

Race Favourite

Undivided is lining up as the 9/4 favourite* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 02:06 GMT on Monday, 30th March 2020). The form has been there to warrant some serious considerations.

She claimed second place at Will Rogers in a mid-March trip at the venue. That was her first run since the middle of December. She has a good chance of scoring for the first time since Remington Park in September last year.

Claims

Right On By collected a third-place finish on her last outing which was at Will Rogers. She hasn’t scored since the summer of last year and has had a lot of work put in science there. Most of that has been at Delta Downs. Her recent trip at the venue could give the six-year-old decent enough claims to push for a money finish.

Perfectly Precious is one to watch in this one. She last ran earlier this March when she took a second place finish. That meant that she just missed out on a three-timer after striking back to back wins at Delta Downs.

This will be her first crack at the dirt of Will Rogers, but shows up brightly with current form as a 3/1 shot* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 02:06 GMT on Monday, 30th March 2020).

E/W Pick

The last run that Pricilla Kay had was at Will Rogers where she just missed out on the money in coming home fourth. That was the first showing after a three-month layoff so there were positive signs in that latest effort. There should be more to come for her as she makes a quick return to the venue and likely won’t be overawed despite the quick turnaround in runs. A good 9/1 pick all the way* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 02:06 GMT on Monday, 30th March 2020).

Tip

We are striking with Perfectly Precious. It is hard to ignore the form that she has delivered in 2020, regardless of the company. She looks a handful and easily at home in this kind of contest. She is going to give the field a good run for its money and looks a value pick.

Race Details

This is a race for which seven runners have entered. It’s a quick sprint on the dirt at Will Rogers Downs over 6f.

Race Favourite

Award It is a proven performer at this kind of level but it hasn’t quite happened for her for a while. She went in a handicap on her last trip, taking a seventh place finish at Sunland Park. She has been shifted around competitive action quite a bit but regardless of that this is a horse which has won 11 of 38 starts.

She hasn’t been on the track since early January and so the seven year old looks to be picking her spots. At the very least she should be in with place claims in this one, but her a-game would likely be too much for most of this field. Award It is the 2/1 favourite* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 02:06 GMT on Monday, 30th March 2020).

Claims

Indian Gem has been ticking over in consistent form. She hasn’t struck a win since a victory at Remington in October last year. It’s been five races since then from her. She hasn’t been in the money in any of her last four trips, but hasn’t been that far out of proceedings. The six year old has a bit more than what she has shown recently.

Ornamental Iron could easily be a threat in this field. She has finished outside of the top two only once in the last six runs, taking one win in that sequence. She was last out at Fonner Park in the middle of February and put in another one of her good, workmanlike shifts. She’s a good horse whose chances shouldn’t be overlooked on Tuesday.

E/W Pick

Northern Dynasty and Veronica’s Dream actually both have good claims. Northern Dynasty has collected three wins in her last five trips, and the first in that sequence happened in April last year at Will Rogers in breaking her maiden. She’s progressing very well.

Veronica’s Dream also scored a win on her last run, sealing a Claiming race at Evangeline. That’s three wins in nine starts from her, two in the last four and they go at 10/1 and 11/1 receptively and neither can be counted out* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 02:06 GMT on Monday, 30th March 2020)

Tip

We like where Ornamental Iron has been going with her progressive form and will be taken for the win in this one. This does appear to be a tighter, closer race than the odds are suggesting with even the outsiders raising some decent claims. But Ornamental Iron looks to be trending towards a score.

Race Details

This later action from Will Rogers Down for horse racing betting is a 6f Claiming race. There are seven entered for the contest.

Race Favourite

Who’s Fooling Who is looking to follow up from her maiden success which happened on her first trip. That was at Remington in the autumn of 2018. So it’s been a barren streak for the filly since then and on her last outing was sixth at Sam Houston.

This will be the first test for Who’s Fooling Who at Will Rogers. She’s been well-respected though in the betting market at 11/8* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 02:06 GMT on Monday, 30th March 2020)

Claims

Whimsical Tale comes into what is just her second start. She blasted out a win at Sam Houston in early March to break her maiden at the first attempt. You can’t really argue with that. There’s not a lot to go on but had a recent workout over 4 on the dirt ahead of this one. Could get into the places.

Letter Rip brings the kind of experience that the other two simply cannot match. There was a recent winning form as she won a maiden at Remington in December last year. She has just the one run since then, which was, perhaps notably, at Will Rogers in the middle of this March. She was fifth on the trip and she should strip fitter for this quick return and has to be respected.

E/W Pick

Special Sky is well worth a look in this one if the pace isn’t too quick. She scored a win to break her maiden at Remington Park last December as well. So just like Letter Rip, she will bring similar claims to the table after that breakthrough.

This will be a bit of a stiffer test but has had a few workouts this month before this return to action. Worth consideration at 16/1 each way* (betting odds taken from Bet365 at 02:06 GMT on Monday, 30th March 2020)

Tip

It’s one of those races which is a little difficult to call because of the general lack of experience and you are basically looking at who can follow up after breaking their maiden. There are some competitive runners here. But it is Letter Rip, who has undergone a bit more track time than some of the others, who gets the nod.
