International Rugby Predictions & Betting Odds – 3rd November 2018

Boks can trouble England at Twickenham

Rugby Betting

The Rugby Autumn Internationals have arrived and we have all of the home nations stepping out into action this weekend. Saturday brings some great matches and these are all important fixtures now ahead of next year’s World Cup.

Wales v Scotland – 2.45 pm

The Welsh will be looking to lay down some more dominance over the Scots when the two meet up at the Millennium Stadium. Wales have a good summer, taking a fantastic 22-20 victory over South Africa before landing back to back wins over Argentina. It means that the only loss that the Welsh have suffered this year was against Ireland in the Six Nations. They are on a five-match winning streak.

Scotland suffered a 34-7 reverse against the Welsh back in the Six Nations in February but still finished with an equal Win/Loss record in the tournament alongside the Welsh. Scotland’s record this season is W5 L3. Over the summer they beat Canada and Argentina, bust suffered a one-point defeat against the USA. Scotland are W1 L4 in their last five games against Wales. Two of Scotland’s last three trips to the Millenium Stadium have seen them lose by hefty margins.

A Wales -9 Handicap at 6/5 odds is our prediction* (betting odds taken on November 1st, 2018 at 6:19 pm).

England v South Africa – 3.00 pm

The Six Nations was a write-off for England who won just two games. Their defence was a shambles throughout so there has been a lot of work needed to be put in to try and get their momentum going again ahead of the World Cup. This will be a good first test in the Autumn Internationals. England are just W3 L5 this year and they snapped a five-match losing streak with a win over South Africa in their final test against the Springboks back in June.

In that series England looked great going forward but they just couldn’t hold anything together at the back. South Africa did take wins in this season’s Rugby Championship over both New Zealand and Australia and they look to be back on top of their game. During the Rugby Championship, they lost their other games against Australia and New Zealand but only by margins of -5 and -2 respectively. Their record in 2018 is W5 L5 but their performances since the summer have been much better.

South Africa are worth a run at 11/8 odds to upset Twickenham* (betting odds taken on November 1st, 2018 at 6:19 pm)

Ireland v Italy – 8.00 pm

Ireland, the reigning Six Nations Champions will get the chance to express themselves against Italy. That should be a pretty easy warm-up ahead for them. The Irish are carrying good form with them as they have won each of their last six games against them. In this season’s Six Nations Ireland took a big 56-19 win over the Italians at Lansdowne Road. The Irish have won their last three games against the Italians by a margin of at least 37 points. There is no reason to expect anything other than a good win for Ireland.

An Ireland -28 handicap is not actually a bad option at 10/11 odds* (betting odds taken on November 1st, 2018 at 6:19 pm).
