Irish punter lands four-figure win with Tiger Roll success

Tiger Rolls completes full house in Lucky 15

Anyone watching Tiger Roll come home first at the Grand National last weekend witnessed a piece of history. Gordon Elliott’s star completed back to back wins in the most famous National Hunt race there is. He became the first horse to do that since Red Rum pulled it off in 1974.

An ambitious punter had Tiger Roll included in a €2 each-way Lucky 15 bet at Boylesports from Saturday’s racing at Aintree. The ball was started rolling from a 4/1 pick on Ornua and that victory was the start of big things for the punter.

If The Cap Fits, backed at 13/2, and 6/1 shot Kildisart triumphed to make it three wins from the opening legs of the Lucky 15. It meant that everything was resting on Tiger Roll and his title defence at the Grand National.

It was a tense running of the big race and with Tiger Roll being the toast of the town, his victory meant that all 15 bets had landed on that Lucky 15 ticket, which returned a grand total of €7,930.78 from a €60 stake. The return included special bonuses for two of the winner had been at bigger SP’s.

Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for Boylesports said: “Hats off to our Offaly customer who is toasting Tiger Roll’s Grand National victory more than most. It must have been a nail-biting watch in the big one, but their canny picks have paid off and we hope they enjoy a well-deserved treat with their winnings.”
