Kazakhstan v Scotland Preview

Kazakhstan have actually shown a bit of form from their recent outings. They are W2 D3 L1 in their last six international matches. The wins in that sequence were over Andorra and Moldova. In last year’s Nations League action Kazakhstan finished second in League D Group 1 behind Georgia, earning just one win from their six matches. The group also contained Latvia and Andorra. Their only one win was a 4-0 success over Andorra. Looking back a little further to World Cup 2018 qualifying, Kazakhstan finished bottom of their group, taking just three points from their ten games.

Key-Facts – Kazakhstan v Scotland

  • Kazakhstan have lost one of their last six games
  • This is the first meeting between the two nations
  • Scotland have won their last two games played 3

So there has to be a shot at a good win for Scotland there. They earned promotion up to Nations League Group B after topping out their group over Israel and Albania last year. That also gives them the cushion of a playoff spot for the Euro 2020 qualifiers. The Scots rediscovered a bit of form and confidence in the Nations League, winning their last two games over Albania and Israel. They have lost three of their last four away games though, including a loss at Israel in the Nations League. Five of Scotland’s last six games have all gone over 2.5 goals and the Scots are on a five-match scoring streak currently. During World Cup 2018 qualification, Scotland narrowly missed out on second place to Slovakia.

Kazakhstan v Scotland Predictions

Scotland to win: Kazakhstan really shouldn’t be any kind of realistic threat to Scotland in this fixture. This is just one of those away games that the Scots have to get through.
