There is one of the top British boxing stars in action on Saturday evening. This is on the card in Sheffield as home hero Kell Brook gets back into the ring. He is the overwhelming odds-on favourite to take the victory as he squares up against Australian challenger Michael Zerafa.

Brook will get much tougher fights than this on his comeback trail. Why is he on a comeback trail? Well after his step up in weight to thrown down against the great Gennady Golovkin at middleweight (but ultimately failing), Brook stepped back into his welterweight zone for his next fight. That was a title defence of his IBF welterweight crown against Errol Spence Jr. Brook lost in the eleventh round through a knockout.
So he is on his way back up. He was in the ring in March as he outclassed Sergey Rabchenko midway through the second round, sending the Belarusian to the deck. There’s little to have been learned from that, expect that his punching power is still there. Each of his last three wins now has been throughout a knockout and this one is at 4/11 to end in a win for Brook via a stoppage* (betting odds taken on December 3rd, 2018 at 6:13 pm).
Zerafa, an Australian fighter, has admitted that this is a step up in the class of opponent for him. But that is where dreams are made in having to put yourself against the best. Zerafa has won his last eight bouts, the most recent of which was a TKO against Jose Agustin Feria back in August. The 26, is a former Commonwealth Super-Welterweight Champion and takes a 25-2 career record into the fight.
Prediction
Brook has a 37-2 record and is far more experienced and has been at the top of the sport for a considerable time. It’s nothing that Zerafa should be able to match at the end of the day. The Australian, of course, has nothing to lose in such a big shot at the limelight.
