Kempton 19:00: BetVictor offer 9/4 racing odds on Kimifive – 22nd January 2020

Revolutionise can challenge the favourite at Kempton

Horse Racing Betting

A field of just five will be scrapping it out at Kempton in the 19:00 on Wednesday. This is a sprint over 7f at the track and it is being shown on Racing TV. Entry is open to 4 year olds and above and this is a Class 3 race.

Kimifive has been leading the way and holding ground at the head of the market as the favourite. But the playing field on the day looks as if could be a pretty even one, making for a thrilling contest.

Kempton 19:00 Race Odds

Kimifive 9/4
Revolutionise 11/4
Busby 4/1
Brigham Young 4/1

Kimifive trades well after impressive showing at Kempton

Five year old Kimifive put in a very good run when he was out over course and distance last October. He was the second of a big field of 13 on that occasion, all from a 16/1 SP.

He has collected three wins in his career between 6f and 7f and is 9/4 to deliver in this one* (betting odds from BetVictor correct at 21:06 January 21st, 2020).

Kimifive is targeting his first win since May last year, however, not picking one up in nine trips now. But he has been battling along in far bigger fields than this one. He will be going off at a 3lb higher mark for this contest.

Revolutionise brings the form

Revolutionise has the form advantage over Kimifive without question. That just makes this such an interesting contest. The four year old bagged a 4/1 win at Chelmsford at the 7f distance earlier in January.

That was a big result for him and snapped a string of three consecutive third-place finishes since his last win. Without question though, he has been coming on strong.

That win at Chelmsford was his one and only at the 7f distance, his previous two coming at a furlong less. One of those was at Kempton.

As an 11/4 option to oppose the favourite, he’s going to have a stack of appeal on Wednesday* (betting odds from BetVictor correct at 21:06 January 21st, 2020).

Will the experienced That Is The Spirit win the day?

Nine year old That Is The Spirit is taking on the youngster in this one. He has experience a-plenty having won eight times at this distance before. His form though has been a little bit in decline this season.

He could only manage to come home sixth of sixth at Wolverhampton in his last outing which was this month. He’s going to have the weight on his side. He was due to run at Newcastle earlier this week, but passed for this.

The rest of the field

Busby is a course and distance winner. He was also a beaten favourite last time out when he took on a 7f trip at Chelmsford City. That was a race where he finished third behind Revolutise as 2/1 favourite for the fixture.

So that naturally will put a knock on his perceived chances in this one for punters. His form is pretty consistent though not having been outside of the places in his last five runs.

Brigham Young will head to the race with a win in his last outing. He bagged a 7f success at Linfield earlier this month. That means that the five year old has to be respected somewhat in this field.

That was in a Class 5 field and the Ed Walker-trained charge will likely find the going a little bit tougher and goes up 4lb.

Predictions & Tips

Revolutionise is the stand out pick in this one. It has been a long time since Kimifive landed a win. Granted he almost pulled off a shock by beating Intuitive in his last race over C&D in December, but it was another missed opportunity.

Revolutionise is consistent and will have the weights on his side in that particular contest. That win was from just the second race for him at Stuart Williams’ yard and so that move has been positive.
