Kempton horse racing tips makes a pick for each of the day’s races from the venue.

Boxing Day is huge at the course with the hosting of the King George Vi Chase which is the headliner.

That’s one of three Grade 1 fixtures from Kempton that we have to look at.

So here are the best of today’s horse racing tips for Sunday, 26th December 2021.

All times listed are GMT.

Distance: 2m

EPATANTE looks to be the one to beat in this year’s Christmas Hurdle at Kempton.

She will be looking for her second success in the race having won it in 2019.

The fascinating set-up for this year’s renewal is the 2020 Champion Hurdle winner Epatante recently had a dead heat with Not So Sleepy in the Fighting Fifth.

The two of them get a rematch on Sunday. But with the conditions at Newcastle easing too much for Epatante, firmer footing at Kempton should see a stronger effort.

NOT SO SLEEPY should be right there again as that was a good effort from him at Newcastle.

Having had some time on the flat clearly helped him on the switch back to the hurdles.

So there is a decent case to be made for him and he’s a super-smart hurdler.

The conditions won’t likely level the playing field as much this time around against his main rival.

TRITONIC should be the other key player in this small field of five in the Christmas Hurdle.

He came up with a very impressive win in the Betfair Exchange Trophy at Ascot a week ago.

This is much tougher, but there are claims for Tritonic on the back of that.

Tip: EPATANTE 10/11

Ones to watch: Not So Sleepy 9/4, Tritonic 9/2

Age: 4-year-olds plus
Declared Runners: 9
Distance: 3m

Race Preview

This is the big feature race of Boxing Day action in UK racing and this year’s renewal of the King George Vi Chase features a brilliant field.

MINELLA INDO is expected to have a really bold sight at this one at Kempton on Sunday.

This year’s Cheltenham Gold Cup hero could be the one to beat if he puts it all together.

He looked like he needed his reappearance effort, in which he finished third behind Frodon at Down Royal a couple of months ago.

Minella Indo though clearly rates as a danger based on his Cheltenham Gold Cup form.

The question is, can he deliver the goods away from Cheltenham and can he handle the right-handed track?

CLAN DES OBEAUX is a two-time winner of the King George and knows what this is all about.

He was third in last year’s renewal not quite getting there. This will be his reappearance as well and his record from fresh is not the greatest.

But back in the spring Clan Des Obeaux did find some superb form with back to back Grade 1 victories.

FRODON is the one looking for a title defence in the King George on Sunday.

He’s such a good chaser and one of the best there is over the fences with jumping form.

He likes to dominate and if the field gives him that chance then Frodon should be right there.

We do also have to look at CHANTRY HOUSE who was superb in novice company last season.

There were Grade 1 wins for him and he could really make his presence felt at Kempton on Sunday.

He is in form after winning at Sandown on his reappearance last month. Chantry House is unexposed but rates as a danger among some high-class company.

Tip: CHANTRY HOUSE 9/2

Ones to watch: Frodon 6/1, Minella Indo 3/1

Race Type: Grade 1 novices’ chase
Age: 4-year-olds plus
Declared Runners: 4
Distance: 3m

BRAVEMANS GAME is seeking a hattrick on Sunday after moving seamlessly into chasing.

He was one of the best novice hurdlers around in the previous campaign and has delivered over the fences.

It’s been two wins from two for Bravemans Game in this sphere, the most recent coming at Haydock last month. His jumping game is bang on point at the moment.

AHOY SENOR is another good one who looks like he has a brilliant chasing career ahead of him.

It is going to be great to see him go up against Bravemans Game on Sunday. Ahoy Senior cruised to a win at Newbury last month, the third win in four.

Ahoy Senor is a tremendous prospect and that recent Grade 2 win clearly indicates that he can push on at the top level.

KILTEALY BRIGGS looks like he is going to face a really tough time at Grade 1 on Sunday. He narrowly dug out a novice win at Haydock a month ago.

TEA CLIPPER did open the season with a chase debit win in a listed event. His follow up at Newbury wasn’t great and has a lot to do to break the big two in this one.

Tip: BRAVEMANS GAME 4/5

Ones to watch: Ahoy Senor 6/5

AN TAILLIUR picked up another win on his latest effort. That was at Taunton and a good response by him as well.

In his penultimate run, An Tailliur had lost his rider, which is his only blip in his career. He’s making tremendous progress and doesn’t look to be slowing up.

He’s already earned a four-timer earlier this year and looks to be the one to beat in this one.

HEROSS DU SEUIL has not been out of the top two in any of his four previous efforts.

He opened with back to back wins and while he hasn’t quite touched back on that level, rates as a danger in this field.

EARLOFTHECOTSWOLDS demands respect as well as he comes up 5lb in a hattrick bid.

Wins at Newbury and Whether recently puts him in the frame. In his latest win at Newbury, he beat Annsam who subsequently went on to win the Ascot Silver Cup. Carrying a 3lb claimer, Earlofthecotswolds should make his presence felt.

Tip: EARLOFTHECOTSWOLDS 11/2

Ones to watch: An Tailliur 7/2, Heross Du Seuil 4/1

JACAMAR could have a say in this one having been in the frame in each of his last three.

He gets a 2lb rise after a near-miss at Wincanton two weeks ago. He’s been going well over the fences and should strike soon.

DANNY KIRWAN should be a major player after taking a runner up spot in a Cheltenham novice handicap in October.

The form from that one has been franked and Dany Kirwan looks for his third win in this sphere.

MISTER COFFEY still looks like he has more to come. Connections will be happy with a third-place finish at Newbury last month on his chase debut. Mister Coffey was good over the hurdles last season and can make his presence felt in taking on the fences again.

ICONIC MUDDLE gets on the shortest as well. He took a win in May at Huntington, which was the last time that he was seen.

But he has looked very good since moving to the fences and while he hasn’t run for seven months, still piques interest.

Tip: JACAMAR 12/1

Ones to watch: Danny Kirwan 5/2, Mister Coffey 4/1

BROOMFIELD BURG looks like the one to beat in this hurdle to open the day’s action at Kempton.

He opened the season with back to back wins over the timbers and has kept improving since.

Broomfield Burg took a superb second-place finish at Cheltenham in a handicap last time out and rates.

PASO DOBLE has won two of his four runs this season and commands plenty of respect as well.

Always a good one on the flat, Paso Doble has taken things forward over the hurdles, with two wins from five in the sphere. The latest was at Taunton two weeks ago.

ROBELLI has shown some promise, taking a good runner up spot at Warwick last month.

That was on his hurdles debut. This is a tougher ask for him, but Robelli could make his presence felt.

Others to watch in this interesting field are CORRIGEEN ROCK who looks to have better about him and BLACK POPPY.

Tip: PASO DOBLE 10/3

Ones to watch: Broomfield Burg 4/7, Robelli 8/1
