Race Favourite

The race favourite for the Close Brothers Pendil Novices’ Chase is TAMAROC DU MATHAN at even money* (betting odds recorded 21:11 GMT on Friday, 26th February 2021 at William Hill).

He is a fairly useful hurdler and he scored on his reappearance run this season, which was also his first since wind surgery.

That win came at Wincanton and it was a breeze for him as well back in November.

He was second to Shishkin on a follow-up run which was here at Kempton.

So Tamaroc Du Mathan has big claims after that Grade 2 effort.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

GA LAW concedes 3lb to the favourite in this one.

However, Ga Law is a quality horse and delivered a hat trick of wins back in the autumn after a return to action.

The latter of those wins was a Grade 2 win at Wincanton. He was thrown into Grade 1 on a follow up and wasn’t disgraced with a third-place finish.

COOLE CODY has shown plenty of improvement this season and won the Paddy Power Gold Cup in November.

He went back to Cheltenham on his latest effort and was well below that winning efforts.

It’s been two wins however at Cheltenham and Newton Abbot this season.

SON OF CAMAS looks to be the one with the most to find. He was well held in a jumpers bumper recently and a long way off the third-place course and distance form in December.

TRITONIC is the current 5/4 market leader for this juveniles’ race at Kempton* (betting odds recorded 21:11 GMT on Friday, 26th February 2021 at William Hill).

He did make a huge positive in winning his debut which was at Ascot 35 days ago.

After looking like a good player on the flat, he immediately came on very positive on his hurdles debut so warrants respect.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

HONNEUR D’AJONC was at course and distance last time out.

That was over Christmas and he may well have delivered a win had he not fallen at the last.

He was well in the frame in the contest before that and would be a good option to support for a bounce back.

We just fancy Honneur De Jonc to make this at 9/2* (betting odds recorded 21:11 GMT on Friday, 26th February 2021 at William Hill).

SOLDIER ON PARADE has plenty of experience under his belt and the front-runner secured a hattrick back in September with a score at Market Rasen.

He went up in grade following that and struggled a bit, but had a good flat run at Lingfield last week.

Race Favourite

This is one of the big races of the day.

The rapidly improving ATHOLL STREET is the current 2/1 favourite for the trip* (betting odds recorded 21:11 GMT on Friday, 26th February 2021 at William Hill).

He is seeking a hattrick when he runs at Kempton on Saturday in this one after winning both opening hurdles efforts at Taunton.

Those were recorded in excellent fashion as well and the second was under a penalty.

There appears to be a huge amount of scope left for him yet. So Atholl Street is a big player.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

CALICO is very interesting in his field and just makes it as our 3/1 selection to upset this field* (betting odds recorded 21:11 GMT on Friday, 26th February 2021 at William Hill).

He produced a highly impressive hurdles debut to get the better of 12 rivals at Ludlow in heavy conditions just over a month ago.

As the favourite, there is a big improvement still to come from Calico who won three times in Germany last year.

The final selection for the shortlist is SON OF RED who picked up a win on his hurdles debut as well. That was at Newcastle.

On his follow up effort he was taken out in a much stronger race at Cheltenham, finishing third.

But the winner has since gone on to Grade 1 and claimed a victory.

This is the headlining fixture of Saturday’s racing and there is a wide-open field stacked with claims.

The rapidly improving CAP DU NORD is the current 6/1 market leader* (betting odds recorded 21:11 GMT on Friday, 26th February 2021 at William Hill).

He is starting to look like something very special and in December was second to Royale Pagaille over course and distance.

Following another good run at Doncaster to follow in the Skybet, Cap Du Nord has the ability to get close to scoring as he is just thriving at the moment.

Kempton Racing Odds & Tips

SLATE HOUSE is another that interests us at 12/1* (betting odds recorded 21:11 GMT on Friday, 26th February 2021 at William Hill).

He won a Grade 1 course and distance effort last season.

Slate House hasn’t been seen to the best effect yet in this campaign but was third at Wincanton recently on what was his first run since a wind op.

If he can build on that, then he’s on a fair mark to put something together.

We are also throwing DOUBLE SHUFFLE onto the shortlist in his one.

That’s because he delivered a course and distance handicap win seven weeks ago.

On top of that, the form has been franked from that and Double Shuffle could therefore have a say in proceedings.

He comes up 5lb but easily has place claims.

MY WAY is the 10/3 favourite for this handicap chase contest in Kempton racing odds* (betting odds recorded 21:11 GMT on Friday, 26th February 2021 at William Hill).

He opened the season with a score at Stratford in what was a maiden hurdle. That was back in October and he has been chasing since then.

My Way was third of six in a Chepstow handicap on his latest run 49 days ago.

He gets treated with the blinkers for this one as he looks for just a little bit more.

We are swinging towards OURO BRANCO at 9/2 instead* (betting odds recorded 21:11 GMT on Friday, 26th February 2021 at William Hill).

He is coming back to 2m 4f which isn’t likely to bother him too much.

Ouro Branco has already stacked up three wins over the fences and produced a brilliant runner up effort at Newbury on his latest.

MONSIEUR D’ARQUE gets on the shortlist as well. He is coming back from a winter break and has had a win op during that time.

Back in the summer last year Monsieur D’Arque came back from a break and immediately picked up a win at Market Rasen.

So he has form coming back fresh and warrants some respect.
