Minella Indo 3/1 FAV in King George Vi Chase Racing Odds

2021 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner MINELLA INDO should be the one to beat based on that form.

In that big Gold Cup effort, he saw off his stablemate A Plus Tard to get the win.

That was part of a hugely successful campaign for Minella Indo who should be one of the front runners at Kempton.

There was a recent reappearance made by Minella Indo.

That ended in a fight place finish at Down Royal, a race won by Frodon. But Mindella Indo looked as if he needed that after his break.

The cheekpieces are put on the for the first time and Minella Indo is the current 3/1 joint-favourite* (odds recorded at 21:59 GMT on December 25th, 2021 at Coral).

CHANTRY HOUSE
9/2

Coral

Clan Des Obeaxu should be right there

What a fascinating challenge there should be from CLAN DES OBEAUX on Sunday at Kempton.

He knows what this is all about having won the race twice before in 2018 and a year later.

Clan Des Obeaux wasn’t at his best in last year’s King George, finishing third behind Frodon.

But there were extremely encouraging sights that he was back at his best in the Spring taking back to back Grade 1 wins.

Those victories happened at Aintree and Punchestown and is obviously more than capable of getting the job done from 3/1* (odds recorded at 21:59 GMT on December 25th, 2021 at Coral).

Chantry House ready for a bold effort

The form of CHANTRY HOUSE puts him bang in the picture for a potential headline-grabbing act in the King George Vi Chase.

It was an outstanding novice campaign that he produced previously, which included a couple of Grade 1 wins at Cheltenham and at Aintree.

On his reappearance he romped to a victory at Sandown, completing a four-timer.

Chantry House will face the toughest challenge of his career so far.

But that Novice form over the fences last season was spectacular and he looks something special.

With Chantry House proven at this trip, he could be a major player.

Chantry House is a quote of 9/2 in King George Vi Chase racing odds* (odds recorded at 21:59 GMT on December 25th, 2021 at Coral).

Can Frodon defend his crown?

Another big player in this King George field is last year’s winner FRODON who looks to be in great heart at the moment.

He is a superb chaser and one of the best in the business in terms of jumping form.

So he will take some stopping once again at Kempton.

Especially because he made a winning reappearance a couple of months ago.

That was a score that he took in a Grade 1 at Down Royal. In that victory, Frodon had Minella Indo behind him.

Frodon clearly rates as a threat and he just gets his head down and goes. The field can’t afford to let him have his way.

Frodon is a quote of 6/1 in horse racing betting* (odds recorded at 21:59 GMT on December 25th, 2021 at Coral).

Saint Calvados could get involved

SAINT CALVADOS is an interesting player at Kempton on Sunday as he does look more than capable of making his presence felt in Grade 1 efforts.

He has experience of this as well, taking a fourth-place finish in last year’s King George.

He hasn’t been seen since February, but during his break, Saint Calvados has had a wind op.

Saint Calvados, who is 16/1 shot, also has a tongue-tie for the first time on what will be his first run for Paul Nicholls* (odds recorded at 21:59 GMT on December 25th, 2021 at Coral).

The Rest Of The Runners

ASTERION FORLONGE looks like a good chaser and took a good win in April at Punchestown.

He may have followed up there as well if he hadn’t lost his rider on his next run.

LOSTINTRANSLATION rediscovered a bit of that old magic with a Grade 2 victory at Ascot on his latest.

He needed that November effort, but it looks like it will demand a whole lot more.

MISTER FISHER has won a couple of Grade 2 efforts and challenged Frodon well in one such race in April. This will be his reappearance against a tough field.

TORNADO FLYER doesn’t have too much behind him in his form to suggest that he is a major threat.

He took a credible modified finish last time out at Punchestown but needs a great deal more.

Predictions & Tips for King George Vi Chase Racing Odds

There are some big claims in this one from a handful of the runners. This is a wonderful field including Gold Cup hero MINELLA INDO.

He has to be in the mix despite getting beaten by FRODON at Down Royal on his reappearance. But Minella Indo does struggle more on right-handed tracks.

Frodon should have a decent chance although he may need the race to pan out in his favour again. Rivals are not likely going to allow him to dominate things.

CLAN DES OBEAUX was simply brilliant last season, but never really got into last year’s renewal. The two-time winner can’t be totally written off however.

Then there’s the unexposed CHANTRY HOUSE who could have enough progress in him to take this.

His superb novice form gives him a big chance and he is worth a look at 9/2* (odds recorded at 21:59 GMT on December 25th, 2021 at Coral).
