Latvia v Poland Predictions & Betting Odds – 10th October 2019

Latvia v Poland Betting Tips – UEFA Euro 2020 Qualifier, 10th October 19.45pm

Latvia and Poland lock horns in a UEFA Euro 2020 qualifier in Group G on Thursday evening. The Poles, who sit pretty at the top of the group on 13 points, are the overwhelming favourites to pick up all three points at the Daugava Stadium in Riga. Poland are available at 1/10, while the hosts are priced at 28/1 to cause an almighty shock on home soil. This should be an easy win for Jerzy Brzeczek’s men.

Latvia News and Form – Latvians to remain on zero points

Slavisa Stojanovic’s Latvia have had a woeful Euro 2020 qualifying campaign so far. The Latvians have taken zero points from six matches, shipping a staggering 21 times along the way. Meanwhile, no Latvian player has scored yet, as their one and only goal was an own goal by North Macedonia’s Darko Velkovski.

Latvia fell their sixth defeat in a row in Group G a month back, with North Macedonia picking up a 2-0 win in Riga. 11 Wolves have not won since beating Estonia 1-0 in a Baltic Cup matchup back in June 2018, which remains their only victory in two years.

Latvia will be hoping to restore some pride from now until the end of their forgettable qualifying campaign. However, they won’t be expecting anything from this one.

Key-Facts – Latvia v Poland

  • The Poles have taken one point from their last two
  • Latvia have zero points from six qualifiers

Poland News and Form – Poles to take a giant leap towards the finals

Poland are top of Group G having taken 13 points from their opening six games. The Poles have won four, drawn one and lost one so far. Incredibly, they have only netted eight goals and conceded two.

After starting their qualifying campaign with successive wins over Austria, Latvia, North Macedonia and Israel, Poland have taken just one point from their last two. They lost 2-0 to the Slovenians in Ljubljana before drawing 0-0 with the Austrians in the National Stadium in Warsaw last month.

Three points in Riga on Thursday will put Poland in a great position to qualify for the European Championship finals, especially as two of their last three qualifiers are at home. Jerzy Brzeczek’s troops should ease past Latvia on Thursday.

Latvia v Poland Predictions

Poland win: Having drawn one and lost one of their last two Euro 2020 qualifiers, the Poles will be looking to get back to winning ways on Thursday. Latvia are ranked 139th in the current FIFA World Rankings, and I can’t see them putting up too much of a fight in this one.

Apart from the two goals conceded in the 2-0 loss to Slovenia a month back, Poland have kept clean sheets in all qualifiers. I fancy them to win to nil in Riga, which you can get at the decent price of 4/11.

Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski, who scored in the reverse fixture in Warsaw, is in stunning form in front of goal at the moment, netting eight times in his last six club appearances. The Polish goal-machine is available at 6/4 to open the scoring in Riga on Thursday.
