Leicester News and Form – Can the Foxes beat Spurs at the King Power?

Leicester had a taste of defeat for the first time this season with a 1-0 loss at Man Utd last weekend. They will be putting their unbeaten home form on the line on Saturday lunchtime against Tottenham. The Foxes will badly want to come up with the goods in this one. They have had a positive start and won’t want to suddenly see back to back losses on the board.

In their two home games so far, Leicester have collected four points from an opening draw against Watford and then a 3-1 success over Bournemouth. Three of their games in the top flight this season have ended under 2.5 goals. They have conceded four goals in total only, which is pretty tight, and three of them have been in the first half of the fixtures.

Leicester have scored the opening goal in two games this season, as well as having been leading at the halftime break in two. Their top scorer is Jamie Vardy who has scored three goals this season. In total, the Foxes have six goals to their name this season, and four of those six goals have been strikes which have given the Foxes the lead. They weren’t quite on their game in an attack last weekend. Can they pick things up back at home?

Leicester v Tottenham Head to Head

Tottenham won both league meetings last season
Spurs have won four of the last five league meetings (L1)
Leicester are W1 D1 L2 in their last four EPL home games against Spurs
All but one of the last six meetings have gone over 2.5 goals

Key-Facts – Leicester v Tottenham

  • The Foxes lost their first game of the season last weekend
  • Spurs won last weekend, snapping a three match winless streak
  • Tottenham have drawn both away games this season 2-2

Tottenham News and Form – Can Spurs land first away win?

Tottenham came racing out of the gates last weekend with a 4-0 success over Crystal Palace. They had extra duties in midweek with a trip to Greece to face Olympiakos in the Champions League. Spurs threw away a 2-0 lead in that game to end up drawing 2-2, which has been a little bit of a theme with them. Two of their last three games have gone that way.

In their North London derby against Arsenal just before the international break they had a 2-0 lead and threw it away to draw. Their first away game in the Premier League this season also ended in a 2-2 draw, which was at Manchester City. So there has certainly been a trend there.

Tottenham’s overall record in the top flight this season reads W2 D2 L1 and four of their five games played have made it over the 2.5 goal line. They have scored 64% of their goals in the first half of games. Also, all but one of the six goals they have conceded have been before the halftime break in fixtures. So for a betting perspective, it may be worth looking at some first-half goal action in this one.

Leicester v Tottenham Predictions

Spurs to win: The Foxes just look to be a little short on consistent scoring power and that clearly shows in the numbers as Spurs have scored almost double to what they have managed. It’s worth backing both teams to get on the scoresheet, but a win for Spurs looks more likely.
