After a few struggles through December, Leicester are back in form. They are on a three-match winning streak in all competitions, despite boss Brendan Rodgers being bold enough to make plenty of changes to starting elevens. That has kept them fresh and sharp. This current winning streak includes league successes over West Ham and Newcastle, plus a home FA Cup success over Wigan on the weekend. Aston Villa News and Form – Can Villa win away at Leicester?

The League Cup has been a nice change of pace for Villa this season. While they are naturally more worried about their Premier League survival, they are just two games from a Wembley appearance. In the last round, they took on a Liverpool youth side and produced a 5-0 win at Villa Park. That was nothing more than a bye for them really. It added to successes over Crewe, Brighton and Wolves that they have secured on their way to this semi-final. Villa have scored at least two goals in each of their four games in the competition this season.

Villa have taken a total of six defeats in their last nine games in all competitions (W3) and it has been some poor defensive efforts which have blighted their season. Troublingly for them, the Villains have not earned an away clean sheet all season in any competition. Aston Villa have conceded at least two goals in seven of their last eight away games. On the weekend they lost 2-1 at Championship side Fulham in the FA Cup. The Villains have taken a W4 L1 record in their last five League Cup away games. But only one of those was against Premier League opposition, this season’s win at Brighton.
