Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool were by far the best team in the English Premier League last season. The Reds won their first English title for 30 years, but can they retain the crown this term? The likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea – plus one or two others – will have something to say about that. In our in-depth preview, we have the best Liverpool betting odds, tips and predictions.

Latest Liverpool Title Odds – Will Klopp’s boys be top dogs again?

Liverpool had an unforgettable 2019-20 Premier League season, ending their long wait for the title in stunning style. Manchester City were the holders, but the Reds accelerated away at the top without looking back.

Even when the season came to a halt in March, the Reds kicked on after the enforced break and sewed up the title with several games to spare. Overall, Jurgen Klopp’s boys won a staggering 32 of their 38 Premier League matches, drawing three and losing three of the other six. Their last two defeats came when they had already won the title.

Liverpool were the best team in England on home turf, and away from home last season. At Anfield, the Merseyside outfit dropped just two points, winning 18 and drawing one. On the road, Liverpool won 14, drew two and lost three. They scored a total of 85 goals and let in 33.

Despite their dominance last season, Liverpool are currently second favourites to win the Premier League title in 2021. Pep Guardiola’s Man City, who finished a whopping 18 points behind, are the favourites at the time of writing. The Reds are priced at 15/8 with Paddy Power.

Key Facts – Liverpool

  • Liverpool have racked up a staggering 196 points in the last two seasons
  • The Reds won the Premier League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup last term
  • Liverpool have 19 English titles and six European Cups to their name

Liverpool Premier League Title Odds: Who are the Reds’ biggest challengers?

Manchester City

In terms of Liverpool’s greatest challengers for the title, that has to be Man City. Finishing so far behind last year would have no doubt hurt Guardiola, who is a serial winner. These two sides have traded blows to be England’s top dogs over the last couple of years, and we could be in for more of the same this term. City are odds-on at 10/11 to get their title back.

Manchester United

Before the 2020-21 season gets underway in September, Manchester United are expected to splash the cash. The Red Devils are in a good position to lure the world’s best players back to Old Trafford after finishing third and securing UEFA Champions League football. Liverpool and Man City are out on their own, but Man Utd look decent value at 8/1.

Chelsea

Chelsea have spent big this summer, making up for lost time after their transfer ban. Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech are already through the door at Stamford Bridge, and more could swiftly follow. Frank Lampard – who did brilliantly in his first season as boss at the Bridge – will no doubt bring others in before the window slams shut. You can get 14/1 for the Blues to win the title.

Tottenham Hotspur & Arsenal

As for the outsiders, Tottenham Hotspur at 50/1 has certainly caught the eye. The Lilywhites had a poor season by their high standards last time, finishing outside of the top four in sixth. This is a big year for Jose Mourinho and Spurs. Tottenham’s rivals Arsenal, who won the 2019-20 Emirates FA Cup, are also available at the big betting odds of 50/1.

Liverpool Transfer News: Lallana & Lovren move on

After finally getting over the line last season, this squad of players have proven that they have what it takes to get the job done. Therefore, do not expect Klopp to spend a massive amount of money this summer.

In fact, we could see quite a few of the fringe players leave Merseyside over the coming weeks. Adam Lallana has left for Brighton & Hove Albion, while Dejan Lovren has witched to Zenit Saint Petersburg. Both were bit part players last term.

Liverpool are on the verge of completing a £11.75m deal for Olympiacos man Kostas Tsimikas, who will provide cover at the back. They also had a £10m bid turned down by Norwich City for the exciting Jamal Lewis. Other than that, it has been relatively quiet at Anfield in terms of signings or potential new players.

Our Liverpool Premier League Predictions: Merseysiders good value to retain?

After putting so much blood, sweat and tears into winning their first title for 30 years, it will be fascinating to see how Liverpool fare in an ultra-competitive 2020-21 Premier League campaign.

As we touched on, Man City will undoubtedly come back stronger, while Man Utd and Chelsea will be hoping to build on good seasons last time around. Throw Tottenham and Arsenal into the mix, and we could be in for a sensational title race this term.

Liverpool have won games for fun and racked up an incredible amount of points over the last couple of seasons. Can they make more history and win back-to-back Premier League titles? 15/8 is a very generous price and looks too good to turn down.
