Liverpool News and Form

The Reds won again in midweek as they eased to a 4-0 success over Newcastle at Anfield. That made it eight wins on the bounce for them in the top flight, remaining undefeated for the season. Overall at Anfield so far this term the Reds are W8 D1 in the Premier League. They have won their last five games there and their defence continues to be impeccable. Liverpool have conceded just two goals in their nine home fixtures this season. They have been scoring consistently, averaging 2.4 goals per home fixture.

44% of league fixtures at Anfield this season have gone over 3.5 goals. They have banked a clean sheet in 78% of their home games which is phenomenal. Looking back at last season’s campaign at this stage, Liverpool were sixteen points worse off than they currently are. Liverpool have been leading at the mid-way point in six of their nine home games (D3). Jurgen Klopp’s men have netted in each of their last eleven Premier League games. Xherdan Shaqiri has scored in four of Liverpool’s last five home games. Mo Salah has five goals in his last four Premier League appearances

Arsenal News and Form

The Gunners could not get anything more than a point on a visit to Brighton on Boxing Day. That left them with an away record of W4 D3 L2 on their top-flight travels this season. The London club are currently winless in three road games (D2 L1) and they have averaged 2.3 goals per road game. So that’s a big positive for them, but things read worse defensively. Both teams have scored in 100% of Arsenal’s away games this season. 67% of their road games have gone over 3.5 goals

Three of the four away wins that Arsenal have collected this season have been by a one-goal margin. The Gunners have scored at least two goals in every away game played. 62% of their goals away from home have been produced in the second period of fixtures. Liverpool v Arsenal Predictions

Liverpool to win: We don’t see Liverpool being upset in this one at all. The Reds have the stronger of the defences in this one and while Arsenal will be a threat, Liverpool still edge it overall in quality. Liverpool to win & both teams to score.
