It is a big weekend of Premier League football coming up. Manchester City moved back to the top of the league on Wednesday night with a victory at Everton. Not so long ago they were seven points adrift of Liverpool but the tables seem to have turned since the start of the new year.

Although City are only top on goal difference and having played a game more than Liverpool, that has been enough for punters to back City to get their hands on the title. City have been backed back into favouritism now at 8/11 odds-on to retain their title.

Before last Monday’s action which saw West Ham really rattle Liverpool in a 1-1 draw at the London Stadium, the Reds were still at 8/13 to collect the league title this season. But a failure to win there, which left them with back to back draws, and a defence which suddenly isn’t earning clean sheets anymore, Liverpool have gone on the drift to 5/4 odds.

But is it all just a two-way race? Spurs are still hanging onto the coattails of the top two and they are currently ticking over as 25/1 shots to get their hands on the title. Liverpool will get the first chance this weekend to land a blow as they face up to Bournemouth at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.

Manchester City will be embroiled in a big scrap with Chelsea on Sunday, a team who has already inflicted a defeat on Pep Guardiola’s men this season. Will the Citizens step it up and exact some revenge back on home soil? City are 8/15 odds-on favourites to beat Chelsea at the Etihad in the 4.00 pm kick off.
