Premier League sides the front runners

At the head of the Europa League betting market at the quarter-final stage, it’s Premier League sides Manchester United and Arsenal who are the front runners.

2017 winner Manchester United have landed themselves a tie against Spanish side Granada in the quarter-finals.

Arsenal, who lost the 2019 final against Chelsea, play host to Slavia Prague who have already eliminated an English top-flight club in Leicester.

If both of them get through, Man Utd and Arsenal will avoid clashing in the semi-finals.

Europa League quarter-final draw

Granada v Manchester United

Arsenal v Slavia Prague

Ajax v Roma

Dinamo Zagreb v Villarreal

Europa League semi-final draw

Granada/Manchester United v Ajax/Roma

Dinamo Zagreb/Villarreal v Arsenal/Slavia Prague

Granada v Manchester United

This will be the first meeting between Granada and Manchester United.

The Red Devils are in the mix after falling from this season’s Champions League.

They opened in the Round of 32 against Spanish opposition, beating Sociedad 4-0 on aggregate.

They then did a very solid job in beating Milan 2-1 on aggregate in the round of sixteen.

Granada started their European campaign coming through three rounds of qualification.

They had a big success in the round of 32 beating Napoli on aggregate.

But they have won just two of their last six Europa League games, going winless in three on the road (D2 L1).

Their chances may lay in the first leg.

First Leg Odds: Man Utd 7/10, Draw 11/4, Granada 15/4

Arsenal v Slavia Prague

The Gunners are going to face a tricky quarter-final tie here.

The Premier League side are the favourites to get through, but Slavia Prague have defied big odds already to prevail.

Arsenal have lost just one game in this season’s Europa League.

That was in the second leg of their Round of 16 tie against Olympiakos, Arsenal still winning 3-2 on aggregate.

But with a W8 D1 L1 record in Europe this season, it will be interesting to see how they handle Slavia Prague.

Slavia Prague failed to win their Champions League qualifier so dropped the Europa League and posted a solid W4 L2 record in the group stage.

They then shocked Premier League side Leicester in the Round of 32, winning 2-0 at the King Power after a 0-0 draw in the first leg.

Slavia Prague then cruised past Scottish champions Rangers in the Round of 16 3-1 on aggregate.

Will they ask enough questions of Arsenal?

First Leg Odds: Arsenal 1/2, Draw 10/3, Slavia Prague 5/1

Ajax v Roma

This could be the tie of the Europa League quarter-finals.

Roma are slight favourites with home advantage to come in the second leg.

The Italians have won 8 of their 10 Europa League matches this season (D1 L1) and have won their last four on home turf, scoring at least three goals in each.

So this first leg is going to be so important for Ajax.

The only previous occasion on which these two met was in the 2002/03 Champions League with Ajax winning 2-1 at home before a draw in Italy.

Ajax dropped from the Champions League group stage and then won all four of their Europa League matches.

This is much stiffer opposition than what they have faced so far, however.

First leg odds: Ajax 11/10, Roma 23/10, Draw 5/2

Dimano Zagreb v Villarreal

Back in 2010, Dinamo Zagreb met Spanish side Villarreal for the first time ever.

The Croatians delivered a 2-0 home win in that group stage match.

The second meeting didn’t go as well for them as they lost 3-0 in Spain.

Dinamo Zagreb came through the group stage of the Europa League unbeaten.

After seeing off FK Krasnodar in the Round of 32 4-2 on aggregate, then they met Tottenham.

After losing 2-0 in London in the first leg, Zagreb pulled off a huge shock back on home soil, winning 3-0 to move through.

Villarreal only dropped two points in their group stage campaign.

They have won all four of their knockout stage fixtures as well as they eased past RB Salzburg and Dynamo Kiev.

First Leg Odds: Villarreal 13/10, Dinamo Zagreb 21/10, Draw 23/10
