Manchester City vs Chelsea Betting Tips – Premier League, 23rd November 5.30pm

Manchester City’s title defence took a huge hit before the international break as they suffered a loss at Anfield against leaders Liverpool. That left the Citizens nine points behind the Reds and actually down in fourth place. They get a tricky home game on their return as it is the in-form Chelsea who are paying a visit to the Etihad. The Blues are sitting one point ahead of the Citizens so this is a massive game for both.

Manchester City News and Form – Can Man City bring down the Blues?

Manchester City’s big chance at getting back in the title race was blown as they suffered a 3-1 loss at Anfield just before the international break. They now have a huge gap to make up on the Reds, but that may just take some pressure off them because, at this point, it looks unrealistic. Pep Guardiola’s men will get the chance to snap back to winning ways as they face Chelsea in Saturday’s late kick-off.

On home soil in this season’s top-flight campaign, Manchester City have taken a W4 D1 L1 record. They have won their last two there, successes against Southampton and Aston Villa. Their one home slip up saw them go down 0-2 against wolves at the start of October. This will be Manchester City’s first test at home this season against one of the other big six in the league. So far they have lost both games this season (home and away) against sides in the top eight.

Man City have won 23 of their last 26 league games and there has been over 2.5 goals in 11 of their last 13 (home and away). So with Chelsea in red-hot scoring form, this has the potential to be a high scoring fixture. Just one of the City’s four home wins this season have been by a margin of only one goal, while they have been leading at halftime in three of their six home games. The Citizens are averaging over three goals per game this season. This would be another hammer blow if they were to lose.

Chelsea News and Form – Can confident Chelsea beat Man City?

The Blues one of the form teams of the Premier League at the moment with a six-match winning streak going. They have been wonderful in attack and are growing in stature all the time in that department. Chelsea do still look a little unsure of themselves defensively, but they have managed to take a clean sheet in half of their last six league games.

All three of those clean sheets were on home soil, however. They have yet to get one on the road. Chelsea have posted a superb W5 L1 away record this season, winning each of their last five. 83% of Chelsea’s away games have made it over 3.5 goals. The Blues are running at an average of 3 goals per road game in this season’s top flight, while they have conceded at an average of two per game.

Chelsea have netted at least two goals in four of their five away games and have tallied ten in their last three away from home. Tammy Abraham kept up his fantastic season in front of goal with the opening strike in a home win over Crystal Palace just before the international break. Christian Pulisic is on a three-match scoring streak in the league for the Blues. Chelsea have the second-best away record in this season’s Premier League and would make a huge statement with a win at the Etihad, moving them four points clear of the reigning champions.

Manchester City vs Chelsea Predictions

Man City to win: Chelsea have enough in the attacking department to cause the Citizens some problems. The away form of Chelsea recently has been spectacular. However, Chelsea are without a clean sheet away from home and the Citizens should find enough cracks there to get the win. Man City to win & both teams to score.
