Red Devils to earn routine home win

Premier League Betting

Manchester United v Crystal Palace Betting Tips – Premier League, 24th August 3.00pm

The Red Devils missed a golden chance to make it two wins from two for the season when Paul Pogba had a second-half penalty saved at Wolves on Monday. Still, that’s four points from their opening two games. Crystal Palace have had a low-key start, as they failed to hit the back of the net in their opening two games. It may be a tall order for them to get something out of their trip to Old Trafford given their recent record there. Read our predictions for Manchester United v Crystal Palace.

Manchester United News and Form

Really Manchester United should have two wins from two on the board at the start of this new Premier League season. But they missed an opportunity at the win away at Wolves on Monday night with Paul Pogba failing to convert a second-half penalty. So that left Manchester United playing out a draw at Molineux. They do look to have a better attacking platform going this season. They look very quick across their front three and that allows them to play quickly and dynamically on the counter-attack.

Marcus Rashford Last Goalscorer
7/2

Ladbrokes

It has been Marcus Rushford as the pick of the Manchester United forwards in terms of early form. The England striker is at 21/20 in the anytime goalscorer market* (Betting Odds were taken from bet365 on August 20th, 2019 at 8:15 a.m.). The Red Devils could not break into the Premier League top four last season, but they did end up with a decent enough home record of W10 D6 L3. However, given the club’s stature that’s not good enough by their standards. Really their big troubles only came when the top other seven clubs and came to visit Old Trafford. There are clear favourites to win this home game on the weekend.

Crystal Palace News and Form

They Eagles have not made a great start to the new Premier League season. They’re one of two sides who are yet to hit the back of the net in this season’s top-flight (Watford). It was a 0-0 home draw against Everton that the Eagles started with. There was a missed opportunity for them though because Everton had been reduced to 10 men in the second half of that fixture. Palace’s star player Wilfried Zaha only started on the bench in that opening game at Selhurst Park.

For their second league game of the season, Crystal Palace went to Bramall Lane to take on the newly-promoted Sheffield United. It was a 1-0 loss that the Eagles took which gave them a miserable long trip back down south. Crystal Palace didn’t have a great summer of transfers as they seemed to be looking in all the wrong areas and not improving what really needed improving. They have done nothing to fix their lack of goals or lack of creativity for example. They look as if they are going to be badly short of goalscoring output this season. As a positive for them in this one, they did win more away games than they did at home last season. The Eagles finished with an away record of W9 D2 L8.

Manchester United v Crystal Palace Predictions

Manchester United to win: This should be a good fixture for Manchester United to get themselves back into winning ways. The dropped points against Wolves will have hurt a bit, but they are good enough to beat a Palace side who don’t know where the goal is. Home win to nil.
