Will McGregor stoop to TV Reality?
You will have seen a lot of betting options surrounding Conor McGregor’s future. What will the fallen UFC fighter do next? His failed comeback on the weekend in a bout against Khabib Nurmagomedov has left his future up in the air.
Options for McGregor
There have been odds of around 5/1 touted on the thirty-year-old to hang up his MMA gloves* (betting odds taken on October 9th, 2018 at 5:20 pm). There have been rumours of him taking on boxing legend Floyd Mayweather in a rematch, this time in the octagon and not the boxing ring.
But the latest offer from Ladbrokes comes out of left field. They have offered a price of 4/1 odds on Conor McGregor to appear in I’m A Celebrity 2018* (betting odds taken on October 9th, 2018 at 5:20 pm). That’s a 20% implied probability.
That would be a pretty strange career move for ‘Notorious’ as the show is usually nothing more than a campsite for b-list celebrities and people who have fallen from the limelight either through age or career changes.
Unlikely career move
McGregor going there is a big reach though even though he loves the limelight. He doesn’t immediately come across as someone who would expose himself to that kind of circus. He plays up to vitriol and trash talk in his fighting career, but a trip to the jungle to fight creepy crawlies would need a humbler side of him.
There’s every chance that he still has a big UFC career in front of him. It’s hard to see him falling down to jungle shenanigans. But still, the odds are out there.
