On questionable things about Boro is their home form in the FA Cup. It’s not great and they have won only two of their last six played in the competition (D1 L3). However, if you break it down to only their home form, then things are not so bad from them at the Riverside. Boro are W5 D1 L2 in their eight FA Cup home games. The last time they hosted a Premier League side was in January 2018 when Brighton paid a visit. Boro lost 1-0. But knowing that they are facing a Tottenham side who have been robbed of their top striker, can Boro make the most of the opportunity?

Tottenham News and Form – Can Spurs beat Middlesbrough?

Tottenham suffered an away loss at Southampton in Premier League action on New Years’ Day. The result was made even worse because Harry Kane suffered a torn hamstring and so is out of action. That is just the one victory that Jose Mourinho’s men have claimed in their last four games now (D1 L2). So they aren’t on top of their game and there have been defensive frailties there without question. So this could be a nervy trip to the northeast on the weekend.

Spurs have won five of tier last nine FA Cup fixtures (D2 L2). The two defeats in that sequence happened in their last three on the road at Manchester United and then at Crystal Palace in last season’s campaign. The Lilywhites have picked up just two wins in their last seven away games in the competition (D2 L3) although each of the three losses in that run did happen against Premier League opposition. How will they handle this tricky game?

Middlesbrough vs Tottenham Predictions

Draw: Boro are buzzing at the moment and with Spurs not being at full strength and really no back up for the goalscoring of Harry Kane, the home side may be able to avoid defeat in this one. The draw looks a good proposition.
