Rare away win for the Bluebirds

Millwall v Cardiff City Betting Tips – EFL Championship, 22nd October 19.45pm

Millwall and Cardiff City go head-to-head at The Den in the EFL Championship on Tuesday night. The Lions will still be hurting after letting a two-goal lead slip to lose at Brentford last weekend. The Bluebirds, meanwhile, will be looking for their first away win of the season. Can the hosts make home advantage count at The Den, or will Cardiff return to South Wales with three points in the bag?

Millwall News and Form – Lions to put things right?

Life after Neil Harris started in the best possible way for Millwall, as Adam Barrett’s side beat Leeds United 2-1 at The Den before the international break. The Lions looked to be on their way to another victory last weekend, as goals Tom Bradshaw and Jed Wallace put them 2-0 up at Brentford. However, Millwall capitulated in the last six minutes, shipping three times late on to lose 3-2.

Nevertheless, Millwall have been pretty solid at home so far this season, with only Queens Park Rangers winning on their patch. The Lions have taken ten points from a possible 15 at The Den, seeing off the likes of Preston North End, Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds.

After last weekend’s gut-wrenching defeat at Griffin Park, Barrett’s Millwall will be desperate for all three points against Cardiff in midweek.

Cardiff City News and Form – Can the Bluebirds pick up first away win?

Cardiff City have been strong on their own patch up until now. Last Friday’s 1-1 draw with Garry Monk’s Sheffield Wednesday preserved their unbeaten start, as the Bluebirds have won four and drawn two of six Championship matches at the Cardiff City Stadium.

However, Neil Warnock’s men have not won away from home since beating Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United 2-0 at Old Trafford on the final day of last term’s Premier League campaign. Before losing 4-2 at West Bromwich Albion before the international break, Cardiff had drawn three in a row away from home.

If the Bluebirds want to be in the mix for promotion this season, their away form will need to improve. With a game against fierce rivals Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium coming up on Sunday, Warnock’s men would love to pick up a win on the road before then. The team from South Wales are available at 7/4 to come out on top at The Den this Tuesday.

Millwall v Cardiff City Predictions

Cardiff City win: Millwall will be fuming after conceding three goals in the last six minutes to lose at Brentford last Saturday, especially after putting in such a fine performance against Leeds the game before.

Cardiff, meanwhile, could really do with an away win after drawing three and losing three of six on the road. Only Barnsley, Wigan Athletic and Middlesbrough have claimed fewer away points up until now. However, I fancy Warnock’s troops to leave London with a vital away victory on Tuesday. The Cardiff win is priced at 7/4.

Millwall have netted in all five of their home games this term, and they should continue that trend in midweek. Back the Bluebirds to win and both teams to score, which is available at the tempting price of 9/2.
