Millwall v Fulham Betting Preview – Championship 20th April 7.45pm

This should be some duel between two sides who are bang in form at the moment. Both start the action on Friday night in the top six, but the difference is, Fulham have already locked down at least a play off place. There is still a chance they could grab second and get automatic promotion. Millwall have been on such a tear but they still need the three points out of this.

Millwall News and Form

The Lions suffered a bit of a costly draw on the weekend at Sheffield United, as it leaves them sweating in sixth place. Still though at the end of the day, their position would have been even tighter had they lost that against the Blades, who are just about in the play off picture. The draw extended Millwall’s undefeated sequence out to seventeen matches in the Championship and they are on a thirteen match undefeated stretch at The Den. The Lions have hit the back of the net in each of their last six home games and they have collected a clean sheet in each of their last three there. This is such a pressure game that it is likely to be tight and under 2.5 goals at bet365 is at 21/20 odds* (Betting Odds taken at 8:09 p.m. on April 15th, 2018). Each of Millwall’s last four home games have finished under the goal line. Millwall do have five clean sheets in their last seven league games (home and away combined) and their last four wins have all been by a 2-0 scoreline. There’s no question that they are going to need to be at their defensive best to handle the powerful Fulham attack. Millwall have conceded an average of just 0.8 goals per home game. Their home form for the season is W11 D7 L3.

Fulham News and Form

Fulham could only manage a point as well on the weekend as they were held by Brentford. That was a costly loss of points for the Cottagers though as it saw them lose hold of second place to Cardiff. Fulham are now trailing the Bluebirds by one point heading into the weekend and the Welsh club have played a game less. So all Fulham can do is win their final three games and hope that Cardiff club slips up. As good as Millwall’s unbeaten form is, Fulham’s is better as they are undefeated in 21 league fixture. They are ten unbeaten away from home at the moment, scoring in each of the games in that sequence, taking a clean sheet in their last two. Overall home and away, Fulham have scored in each of their last 21 league games. The half time draw at bet365 for 13/10 odds* (Betting Odds taken at 8:09 p.m. on April 15th, 2018) is well worth considering as the Cottagers have been level at the break in more than half of their away games. Fulham do boast a powerful attack and they have averaged 1.7 goals per away game this season and 60% of their away goals have come in the second half of matches. This is such a pressure game for them.

Millwall v Fulham Head to Head

The Cottagers collected a 1-0 win at home over the Lions earlier in the season in what was just the third Championship meeting between them. Each of the previous three Championship meetings have ended under 1.5 goals. Things are even with one win each (both 1-0 victories) and a 0-0 draw. So goals have been at a premium between these two. The 0-0 draw in that sequence was in their only previous Championship meeting at The Den.

Millwall v Fulham Betting Odds*

Millwall v Fulham Predictions

Nothing much is likely to split these two on the night because they are both in form and both playing with power and confidence. A draw wouldn’t be a surprise, therefore, but because the Lions badly need these points to stay in the play offs, they may be able to deliver with home advantage being the only thing to separate them.
