Millwall vs Charlton Athletic Betting Tips – EFL Championship, 9th November 15.00pm

Millwall and Charlton Athletic go head-to-head at The Den in an all-London affair in the EFL Championship this Saturday. The Lions have been very solid at home this season, and Gary Rowett’s men are the favourites to win this one. Lee Bowyer’s Addicks, meanwhile, have not won away from home since August. Which one of these London clubs will be celebrating come 5pm on Saturday afternoon?

Millwall News and Form – Another three points for the Lions at The Den?

New Millwall manager Gary Rowett guided the Lions to victory over his former club Stoke City in his first match in charge at the end of last month. The Londoners were too savvy for Stoke, with Ben Thompson and Jed Wallace on target in a 2-0 win at The Den.

Unfortunately for Rowett and his side, they could only follow that up with a 2-1 loss at Reading last weekend. Wallace’s goal just after the hour mark proved to be just a consolation strike at the Madejski Stadium.

Millwall have failed to win any of their eight Championship matches on the road (four draws, four defeats), but they have been an extremely tough nut to crack at the fortress Den this season. In fact, only Preston North End, Cardiff City, Birmingham City and Derby County have picked up more home points than the Lions’ 14 up until now. Can Millwall seal another home victory this weekend?

Charlton Athletic News and Form – Can the Addicks claim a first away victory since August?

Lee Bowyer’s Charlton Athletic have really struggled away from The Valley in recent months, failing to pick up an away win since August. The Addicks took seven points from their first three away fixtures, but only two points from a possible 12 has followed. Last time out on their travels, though, Charlton did hold high flying West Bromwich Albion to a 2-2 draw at The Hawthorns.

On the whole, last season’s EFL League One play-off winners have made a decent start to life back in the Championship. Athletic have won six of their 15 second tier encounters thus far, drawing four and losing five of the other nine.

Bowyer’s boys make the short trip to The Den having won only one of their previous six in the Championship. After slipping down to tenth in the table after a poor run of results, can Charlton secure a rare away win on Saturday?

Millwall vs Charlton Athletic Predictions

Millwall win: Only Queens Park Rangers have left The Den with all three points in the Championship this season. The Lions have beaten some big teams on home soil, claiming wins over the likes of Preston, Sheffield Wednesday, Leeds and Stoke.

Charlton have found it tough going lately, winning only one of their past six in the Championship. This will no doubt be a stern test for the second tier newcomers, so my money is going on the Millwall win at 21/20.

The Lions have won five league and cup matches this term, with four of those victories being by a single goal. Check out the tempting odds of 11/2 for the home team to claim a narrow 1-0 win in this one.
