Nations League Tips & Odds – 18th November 2018

It is all down to the wire now and teams will be out to grasp their last chance of avoiding relegation or winning a group to earn promotion in the Nations League. Sunday will see some big games go down and the highlight of the fixtures will be England v Croatia in a winner-takes-all fixture. The other top game of Sunday’s Nations League action is Switzerland v Belgium, the Swiss needing a win to take the spot from the Red Devils.

Here are our top Nations League tips predictions for Sunday, November 18th 2018.

Greece v Estonia

The issues are settled in Group 2 and it is Finland who have already earned promotion by having locked in top spot. Estonia are getting relegated. Greece start the weekend in second place and could drop down to third but will be safe from relegation, as they have done enough to avoid potentially being the lowest ranked third-placed team of Nations League C. Anyway, to the game. Greece have won their two home games by a 1-0 scoreline (including a success over group winners Finland on the 15th) and their one away win was by that scoreline too. You can probably see where we are going with this. Estonia don’t have a single point and have scored just the three goals. None of those goals have been away from home.

A Greece 1-0 correct score option checks all the right boxes in this one at 15/4 odds* (betting odds taken on November 16th, 2018 at 4:29 pm). This could just about be as straightforward at it gets.

Hungary v Finland

This is in C2 just as the action from Greece v Estonia is. There’s nothing at stake here for Final after having produced a strong campaign. They lost 1-0 against Greece on November 15th through which snapped their chance of landing a 100% record in the group. Of the ten matches played in C2 six of them have ended in a 1-0 scoreline. So it’s been tight battles the most of the way. Three of Finland’s four wins in the group have been by a 1-0 scoreline. Hungary have won their two home games scoring exactly two goals in each of those and that could be a key point looking at this fixture. Hungary are actually the top scorers in the group with seven goals in their five games but they have collected only the one clean sheet. But considering that they haven’t yet mathematically avoided the chance of finishing last the worst third-placed side from Nations League C, then they have to get their tails up.

We are going with the home win in is one. Hungary have done alright on home soil and they are facing the group winner s who don’t have any pressure on them. So a home win at 23/20 odds isn’t a bad poke* (betting odds taken on November 16th, 2018 at 4:29 pm).

Moldova v Luxembourg

Down in D2, there is still the chance of promotion up for grabs for Moldova. They have to come out and win this while they need Belarus to lose against San Marino. It’s a chance but not a great one. Were that scenario to play itself out Moldova could be promoted on overall goal difference or goals scored. They are facing a Luxembourg side who have probably performed better than was expected of them as they are in second place and if they win and Belarus lose then it will be Luxembourg who get themselves promoted. They are also the top scorers in the group.

Luxembourg smashed Moldova 4-0 when they met earlier in the group. We are going to with them completing the double over Moldova by just backing the away win at 9/4 odds* (betting odds taken on November 16th, 2018 at 4:29 pm).

San Marino v Belarus

San Marino have been the whipping boys of a poor-quality group that is D2 of the Nations League. They have not picked up a single point, nor have they scored a single goal. In their five games so far they have shipped 14. So you would imagine that this is going to be somewhat easy pickings for Belarus who are top of the division and just need a point to secure promotion by earning top spot. Belarus haven’t conceded a goal in the entire group so far and it is pretty hard to imagine that they will do so here.

There’s not too much to decide about in this one. The away win should be a foregone conclusion really and Belarus to win to nil at 2/5 looks a banker for an acca* (betting odds taken on November 16th, 2018 at 4:29 pm).
