Taking centre stage as a Group 3 feature of Tuesday’s action at Newmarket is the Nell Gwyn Stakes.

This popular Fillies’ contest on the flat is open only to 3-year-olds and this is an interesting renewal.

It’s perhaps not as strong of a renewal as it could be, but it looks competitive.

In this Nell Gwyn Stakes preview 2022, we take a look at each of the declared runners.

Cachet 2/1 FAV in Nell Gwyn Stakes Racing Odds

CACHET is heading the market for the Nell Gwyn Stakes at 2/1* (odds recorded at 20:41 GMT on April 11th, 2022 at Coral).

There should be fair claims there for her as she has been involved in stronger fixtures than this before.

Cachet is seeking just the second win of her career.

However, that doesn’t mean form hasn’t been there.

She was a place finisher in the Group 2 Rockfel here at Newmarket last season and in the Group 1 Fillies’ Mile.

So there’s a good track record for Cachet who lowers her sights slightly for this contest.

Cachet looks like a very big player and given that the field doesn’t look too deep, then her chances are boosted.

Hello You can make her presence felt

Arguably the biggest threat to the favourite is HELLO YOU from a quote of 11/4* (odds recorded at 20:41 GMT on April 11th, 2022 at Coral).

She had the beating of Cachet when the two met in the course and distance Rockfel. That was in September.

Hello You went on to post a very good fifth at Del Mar on a big test afterwards, the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies’ Turf.

Back on home turf, she looks as if she can really contend.

She will have to deal with a 3lb rise for her Newmarket return. That makes a follow-up over Cachet a little tougher.

But she is likeable and reliable and should be stronger as a 3-year-old naturally.

Perfect News progressing well

The other of the big three in this race is PERFECT NEWS who showed some good progress last season.

There have been two course and distance wins recorded by her.

The first of those was a nursery before claiming the C&D Group 3 win in October.

Perfect News arrives for last year’s winning yard and gets the tongue tie on for the first time.

There’s a lot to like about the form from the previous season.

Perfect News warrants big respect at 9/2* (odds recorded at 20:41 GMT on April 11th, 2022 at Coral).

Amohandesah the pick of the e/w tips

ALMOHANDESAH is the 25/1 outsider for this contest* (odds recorded at 20:41 GMT on April 11th, 2022 at Coral).

She may however be with an each-way look if she finds improvement.

Last summer Amohandesah scored in a novice contest.

She was then really tested by her yard in strong contests.

The last of which was a fourth on a 1m trip here at Newmarket as she was highly tried.

Amohandesah is not completely out of the picture.

Ribbon Rose defends unbeaten record

RIBBON ROSE landed a course and distance win last season in a maiden. That was from a 25/1 SP, defying some big odds.

A month ago she made her reappearance run and landed a Kempton novice to make it two wins from two.

Ribbon Rose comes up in class and that is naturally going to demand more.

But further progress is not out of the question, which could see her be competitive.

Ribbon Rose is a quote of 10/1* (odds recorded at 20:41 GMT on April 11th, 2022 at Coral).

Rest Of the Runners

RISHES BAAR landed a win on her debut as she shrugged off some big odds to land a score at Haydock.

Two Group 3 efforts in defeat followed that and she wasn’t disgraced in either of those pattern company runs.

She was, however, a length behind Perfect News over course and distance on her last run.

ROMANTIC TIME won three times last season and one of those was at Group 3 in the summer.

That may have been an exception as she was a long way from a replication of the form when beaten easily by Hello You and Cachet in the Rockfel.

SYSTEM hasn’t done anything since landing a score on the July course here at Newmarket last year.

It was a poor finish afterwards in three runs to her juvenile career and the revival is going to have to be huge.

Predictions & Tips for Nell Gwyn Stakes Racing Odds

PERFECT NEWS has to be worth a look at in this one at a quote of 2/1* (odds recorded at 20:41 GMT on April 11th, 2022 at Coral).

She is from last year’s winning yard and showed some excellent form, including a course and distance.

CACHET has to feature strongly as the 2/1 favourite* (odds recorded at 20:41 GMT on April 11th, 2022 at Coral).

Cachet put some very good form down last season at levels higher than this, so big claims are there.

The final shortlist selection is going to be HELLO YOU who did claim a victory over course and distance last September against Cachet.

Naturally, claims are there from her but a big 3lb penalty could prove a lot for here at 11/4* (odds recorded at 20:41 GMT on April 11th, 2022 at Coral).

As an outsider chance, there should be excellent claims there from ALMONHANDESAH who is open to some huge improvement.
