King’s Lynn 11/4 FAV in Hackwood Stakes Odds
KING’S LYNN will be hoping for a clear run, something that he has not managed to have in his last two.
But those two have still been very good efforts at Royal Ascot and in a Wokingham handicap.

There does appear to be just enough in his form to get him close to a return to winning ways for Andrew Balding.
The latest of the wins for King’s Lynn was at Haydock in May at a 5f distance. He’s progressive enough to take this.
Can Tabdeed win the Hackwood again?
Twelve months ago it was TBDEED who took this contest and he looks to be in good shape to put in another bold effort.
There was a good recent effort from him at Newcastle in the Chipchase Stakes in which he finished fourth.
That was on his reappearance after a break of 10 months, so he’s entitled to go better here.
It was certainly encouraging enough to expect Tabdeed to be back in the thick of things here.

He makes his debut on the turf on Saturday in this one. He was in the Chipchase on his latest effort, finishing ahead of Tabdeed to take a third-place finish.
There has been superb all-weather form from Diligent Harry, winning three of five. So he has a chance here.
The move to the turf does offer a little question mark, but there is clear ability in him.
Fillies’ allowance to help Happy Romance?
Gaining an advantage with the fillies’ allowance for this contest is HAPPY ROMANCE who is a quote of 13/2* (odds recorded at 21:25 GMT on July 16th, 2021 at Bet365).
She was finishing well, nice and quick at 5f at Swandown on her latest effort. She claimed third in that contest two weeks ago.
That saw her once again in a good light and Happy Romance looks a very useful filly in the good hands of Richard Hannon.
She has won once this season and there looks to be reasonable place claims for her at Newbury on the weekend.
Can Royal Commando get back on track?
There was a victory for ROYAL COMMANDO on his reappearance. That was in March at Doncaster.
But he couldn’t follow up on that encouraging run next time out. He was disappointed in fact at Royal Ascot.
Royal Commando had been put into the Jubilee Stakes at the 6f distance a month ago and never made an impact, finishing 9th of 12.
That was a surprisingly poor run from him and he is better than that.

The rest of the runners
ROYAL CRUSADE needs to prove himself a little bit more. He is lightly raced and looks to be struggling to find his range.
He was third from last in the Criterion three weeks ago after a break of three months. It’s hard to see a big enough response coming.
METHOD wasn’t ever really in the frame at the July Cup on his latest run. That was just a week ago.
But he had opened the season well with a fifth-place finish in the Sandy Lane Stakes. He’s no forlorn hope and method is a course and distance winner.

That is trusting that he can carry over his superb all-weather form onto the turf. He looks to retain the ability to do so.
KING’S LYNN should be in the thick of this one as he is progressive but just hasn’t hit calm waters recently.
