Newcastle 13:20 Racing Odds and Tips June 2 – Sir Busker 11/2 with Ladbrokes

Busker can call the tune in Newcastle Tuesday feature

Horse Racing Betting

After the initial excitement of yesterday’s return of UK racing, there are two meetings today to further test the practicalities of conducting the sport behind closed doors.
We remain on the all-weather on Tuesday but the quality takes a distinct upturn at Newcastle with two Class 2 handicaps including the 13:20 Betway Handicap.
Betway have been prominent in helping support the return of racing and sponsor all 10 races on the second day of action at Gosforth Park.

Newcastle Facts and Figures

The all-weather course is left-handed, has easy bends, and is 1m6f in circumference.
Races of up to a mile can be run on the straight course which, with its up hill climb over the last few furlongs, is more demanding than other all-weather courses.
Trainers Bill Knight and Tom Dascombe are usually worth following on the Tapeta track at Newcastle.
Callum Rodriguez rides plenty of winners and Newmarket-based Andrea Atzeni has a decent strike-rate from fewer rides.

Betway Handicap Predictions

Fifth Position is trained in Newmarket by Roger Varian.
The four-year-old was last seen running the bet365 Cambridgeshire at Newmarket in September and wasn’t disgraced, though did finish behind today’s rival Dark Vision (a general 6/1) and is worse off at the weights so best odds of 10/3 don’t look particularly appealing.
Firmament seems to have been around forever but is two years younger than stablemate So Beloved.
The eight-year-old is a best 10/1 despite the fact that he’s already proven himself over the course and distance and saw action at Chelmsford and in Dubai over the winter. He is well enough handicapped to attract each-way interest under Danny Tudhope.
Irreverent is a general 8/1 and also has solid place claims.
Richard Fahey’s gelding won three times in 20129 and it wouldn’t be a shock if he progressed further this year, though is having a first run on an artificial surface.
Sandret is widely available at 6/1 and has been on an upward curve for a while. He likes the Tapeta so should give supporters a run for their money despite being stepped up in class.
There are several front-runners in this race, including Arcanada and Club Wexford, and they should ensure an end-to-end gallop.
That should suit SIR BUSKER (a general 11/2), who has won on Turf and Polytrack and is most effective when held up and delivered late off a fast pace. He probably has more to offer now he’s proven his stamina over a mile.
