More misery for the Magpies

Newcastle United v Manchester United Betting Tips – Premier League, 6th October 16.30pm

Newcastle United and Manchester United clash at St James’ Park in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon. The Magpies are second from bottom in the league table at the moment, winning just one of their seven games. As for Man Utd, they have picked up only two league wins, sitting in tenth spot as a consequence. This is normally a fascinating fixture, but who will come out on top at St James’ this weekend?

Newcastle United News and Form – Another defeat for the Magpies?

Newcastle United are without a win since shocking Tottenham Hotspur back in August. The Magpies picked up a memorable 1-0 win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with Joelinton scoring the only goal of the game.

Since then, however, Newcastle have taken just two points from a possible 12. Steve Bruce’s men drew with Watford and Brighton & Hove Albion, both at St James’, and lost at Liverpool and Leicester City.

Newcastle were embarrassed at the King Power Stadium by the Foxes last weekend. Brendan Rodgers’ troops ran riot on home turf, with goals from Ricardo Pereira, Jamie Vardy (2), Paul Dummett (own goal) and Wilfried Ndidi securing an emphatic 5-0 victory for the Foxes. Newcastle’s cause was not helped by Isaac Hayden’s first-half red card.

Bruce has had a tough time at St James’ Park since his controversial arrival. However, can his side secure a positive result against Man Utd at the weekend?

Manchester United News and Form – First away league win since February?

Manchester United have won just one of their last six in the Premier League. The Red Devils have picked up two league wins overall, beating Chelsea 4-0 and Leicester 1-0, both at Old Trafford.

However, since a Marcus Rashford penalty gave them a 1-0 victory over the Foxes last month, United have taken just one point from their last two in the Premier League. Before drawing with Arsenal at Old Trafford on Monday, the Red Devils were beaten 2-0 by Manuel Pellegrini’s West Ham United at the London Stadium.

United had to settle for a point on Monday. Scott McTominay’s thunderbolt strike gave them the lead just before half time, but Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang levelled things up for the Gunners in the 58th minute. Overall, the draw was probably a fair result. United then drew with AZ Alkmaar in Holland in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday night.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have been mediocre at best at the start of this Premier League campaign. So far, the Red Devils have won two, drawn three and lost two of their opening seven. Meanwhile, they have not won away from home in league action since February. Can Man Utd claim a crucial three points at Newcastle on Sunday?

Newcastle United v Manchester United Predictions

Manchester United win: By their high standards, Man Utd have made a slow start to their season, winning only two of their opening seven in the league. United are already a staggering 12 points behind league leaders Liverpool. Having won just one league matchup since an opening weekend victory over Chelsea, Ole’s troops could certainly do with all three points from this one.

Bruce will be demanding a response from his players after their humiliating loss at Leicester last weekend. The Magpies are bound to put on a better display in front of their home supporters, but we can see them crashing to another defeat. The away win is priced at 17/20.

England international Marcus Rashford has scored in both of Man Utd’s Premier League wins this term. United’s No. 10 also netted in the Red Devils’ 2-0 victory at St James’ last season. Rashford is available at 11/8 to score anytime on Sunday.
