Newcastle v Bournemouth Betting Preview – Premier League 4th November 3.00pm

The Magpies will look for a bit of home comfort this weekend when they play host to Bournemouth. Newcastle suffered a late blow in a loss out at Burnley last weekend and will look to pick up the pieces after that. They are carrying decent enough home form to suggest that they can and they take on a Bournemouth side who suffered another defeat last weekend as they were toppled by Chelsea, without raising much of an attacking threat in the entire game. Will they have anything to hurt Newcastle with?

Newcastle v Bournemouth Betting Tips

In a horrifically poor game with Burnley last time out, Newcastle slipped to a 1-0 loss at Turf Moor and have to pick themselves up from that setback. But looking at the stats, there are enough reasons for the Magpies to be pretty positive about picking up three points in this fixture and get back to winning ways. They have done well at home this season in the top flight where they have produced a W3 D1 L1 record so far and the only loss they have suffered at St James’ Park came in their opener against Spurs. The Magpies have conceded only the two goals in their last four at home in the league, picking up the two clean sheets in that sequence. Newcastle to win to nil at bet365 is an appealing price of 11/5. The Magpies produced a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace in their most recent home game.

Last Six Head to Head All Competitions

Newcastle 1 – 3 Bournemouth
Bournemouth 0 – 1 Newcastle
Newcastle 2 – 2 Bournemouth
Bournemouth 0 – 0 Newcastle
Newcastle 3 – 0 Bournemouth
Bournemouth 2 – 1 Newcastle

A Newcastle 1-0 correct score at bet365 for this fixture is a short price of 13/2 with only the 1-1 draw shorter at 6/1. So the bookmakers are expecting this to be a low scoring game on the weekend which can lead to a bit of value on under 2.5 goals at 4/5 because of that. You would have to consider that the visiting Cherries aren’t a prolific scoring side. The last time that Newcastle and Bournemouth were together was in the 2015/16 Premier League season and the two clubs traded away wins on that occasion, with Bournemouth actually taking a big 3-1 win at St James Park. But Newcastle are in a much better position at the moment than they were then and have suffered one defeat in their last five games against the Cherries. A win would keep the Magpies trucking along nicely in the top half of the table.

Bournemouth played pretty well, in terms of effort and commitment last weekend in a 1-0 loss against Chelsea at the Vitality. However, they just couldn’t get anything going as an attacking force and are struggling to create chances. Their lack of goals this season has been a major burden. The Cherries have scored just the six league goals in their ten games so far in the Premier League this season in putting up a W2 D1 L7 record. Out on the road in the top flight Bournemouth have a W1 L4 record from their five games, but at least they took a huge positive in snapping their four match losing streak away from home when they sprung a surprise 2-1 win at Stoke recently. Five of Bournemouth’s seven defeats in the Premier League this season have been by just the one goal margin. Newcastle to win by a one goal margin at bet365 is a price of 4/1. Bournemouth just haven’t been able to get any strikers going this season Jermain Defoe is an 11/5 anytime goalscorer option for them, with Callum Wilson at 13/5. Newcastle’s Mato Joselu is the shortest priced option in the bet365 anytime goalscorer market at a price of 13/10.

Newcastle v Bournemouth Predictions

Newcastle to win: The Magpies look value to collect the home win and that is largely on the back of Bournemouth not creating chances going forward and you can’t win games like that. Newcastle are in good form at home and can extend that with three points in this one.
