The Cumberland Stakes is at a distance of 1m 4f and the Group 3 is open to 3 year olds plus. There’s eight declared runners and we look at each of them.

Hukum 5/2 FAV in Cumberland Lodge Stakes Racing Odds

HUKUM is expected to be a major player in this one on Saturday.

He is the current narrow 5/2 favourite in Cumberland Lodge Stakes betting* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on October 1st, 2021 at Unibet).

He has claimed Group 3 wins this season, including a defence at the Geoffrey Free at Newbury, so he’s in top form.

On his latest effort, Hukum went close in the September Stakes at Kempton, having to settle for second as he was beaten by a neck.

Another notable piece of form by Hukum was his course and distance win in June at the Hardwicke Stakes. Hukum sets the standard.

Title won’t let Hukum have it all his own wway

TITLE is a very exciting 3 year old and he has strong claims in this one as well from a quote of 3/1* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on October 1st, 2021 at Unibet).

It’s been a cracking season for Roger Varian’s colt who has won two of five runs in this campaign, not having been outside of the top three.

He was a good third at course and distance in the King Edward Stakes VII Stakes in the summer.

With a victory in his latest effort, which was on his handicap debut three weeks ago at Doncaster, Title has to be right there with a big chance.

Can Royal Ascot winner Quickthorn topple Hukum?

Earlier this year QUICKTHORN picked up a victory at course and distance at Royal Ascot, which is a great piece of form.

That Duke Of Edinbrugh success here at the venue is one of three wins that Quickthorn has taken this season. It had been after a 13lb rise for a Haydock win as well.

On his penalty effort, Quickthorn went really close in the Ebor and then immediately jumped back to winning ways with a class 2 handicap score at Salisbury.

Quickthorn has to be involved heavily in this at 10/3* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on October 1st, 2021 at Unibet).

Ilaraab ready to pounce?

ILARAAB opened the season with a nice score at York on his return to action. That was a nice start for one that had gone so well last season.

Ilaraab was a five-time winner in 2020. But after that score at York he struggled to keep up his form in a couple of subsequent efforts.

But then he served notice that he was back on track with a very good third in a Newbery Group 3 with the cheek pieces on two weeks ago.

Ilaraab has plenty of ability and is 11/2 to step forward further* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on October 1st, 2021 at Unibet).

Rest Of The Runners

ALIGNAK shuttle to get the distance at Chester 21 days ago on this trip. That was his reappearance run, so he could be fitter for it. Alignak did sign off last season with a Listed score at this distance at Chelmsford.

ALOUNAK can make his presence felt. He was second three weeks ago at Chester. He picked up the Old Newton Cup at Haydock earlier this season, and Alounak was second in last year’s Hardwicke over course and distance.

EAGLES BY DAY hasn’t really produced anything in his runs this season to suggest that he is going to prevail in such a strong field. There was a Group 3 win for him on his yard debut last year, but hasn’t been anywhere near that kind of form.

WELLS FARHH GO is a good stayer who likes to go from the front. But it’s been a long while since he’s looked like any kind of real threat in a stronger contest. He was third in a listed effort at Chester three weeks ago.

Predictions & Tips for Cumberland Lodge Stakes Racing Odds

QUICKTHORN is very interesting and very appealing in horse racing betting for this contest on Saturday.

He’s delivered such high class performances this season and has gone from strength to strength. He should be right there from 10/3* (odds recorded at 21:09 GMT on October 1st, 2021 at Unibet).

But it’s still so hard to look past HUKUM who has won the Hardwicke over C&D this year and it’s two Group 3 successes for him this season.

The defeat in the September Stakes at Kempton last time out can be excused, because that race turned in a mess but he sets the standard.

Not to be counted out of this is ILARAAB who warrants some respect with a return to form at Newbury last time out.

He was spectacular last year and that improved run last time out gives him claims.
