Leicester couldn’t hang around any longer and they sacked Craig Shakespeare this week after a poor start to the season. After collecting just the one win and a total of six points from their opening eight games of the new season, the Foxes have fallen a long way short of where they wanted to be under Shakespeare this term. They have faced Arsenal, Man Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool already this season, losing all of those matches, but their performances in their easier games has not been there.

With draws against Huddersfield, Bournemouth and West Brom surrounding their only success which was a 2-0 home win over Brighton, the Foxes haven’t been able to put things together. When Shakespeare was handed the reins after the club sacked Claudio Ranieri, the club actually woke up from their post-title blues and Shakespeare got them through to the final eight of the Champions League as well.

But that ship has sailed and a new direction is being charted. Now the club is on the lookout for their next manager and leading the way early is former Crystal Palace and England manager Sam Allardyce who was moved into 4/1 Bet Victor.

Allardyce had been linked with the vacant Scotland job, but he dismissed that, saying the timing wasn’t right. But a move back to the Premier League may be right up his alley. Palace has been out of work since leaving Crystal Palace at the end of last season. Another former Palace boss, Alan Pardew has been linked with the job as well and has been around the 14/1 mark across the board.

After Being sacked by Bayern Munich following a 3-0 defeat at PSG, Carlo Ancelotti’s name didn’t take long to be tossed into the hat at a price of 8/1 and the Champions League winning boss would be a big coup and he’s a popular figure in England following his stint with Chelsea. Wales boss Chris Coleman, whose future doesn’t appear to be too certain is as short as 3/1 at William Hill to head off to take charge of the Foxes. After the work that Coleman has done with the Dragons, he is going to be a man in demand if he walks away from the national post. Leicester now would be in prime position to pounce.
