Next West Ham Manager betting opens up as Moyes leaves

Can the Hammers get Pellegrini?

Next Manager Betting & Transfers

The Premier League season has barely finished an already there have been some managerial casualties. With Sam Allardyce getting the boot from Everton, West Ham saw David Moyes walk away from his position at the club. Moyes had been at the London Stadium just six months and with the struggles that West Ham had over the course of the season, especially in defence, to the point where they were flirting with relegation one point, the Scotsman has packed his bags.

So that opens the next West Ham manager betting market wide open and the two early front-runners are Paulo Fonseca and Manuel Pellegrini. It will be interesting to see just what the London club can attract in terms of pedigree in a manager. The Hammers haven’t done very well in recent transfer markets and fans have protested the lack of action from the club owners this season.

So if they can get their hands on Pellegrini for example the former Manchester City boss who took the Citizens to the Premier League title in 2013/14 season, it would be quite the coup for the Hammers. He does have a decent track record of turning struggling sides into strong challengers for some form of silverware and that can be seen in his track record at both Malaga and Villarreal whom he took deep into UEFA Champions League campaigns from nowhere.

So he has the quality to turn clubs around and the 65-year-old is at 6/5 odds at Ladbrokes* (Betting Odds taken at 7:06 p.m. on May 16th, 2018) to get the job. The only man shorter than him in the market Paulo Fonseca. This would be more of a gamble for the Hammers because, despite successes with FC Braga and Shakhtar Donetsk, he hasn’t been in top-level managerial situations in any of Europe’s big 5 leagues. So he’s a bit of an unknown quantity in that regard.

Rafa Benitez is a short 5/1 odds option* (Betting Odds taken at 7:06 p.m. on May 16th, 2018) in the next West Ham manager betting market, however while it would be a pretty decent fit for the London club in terms of being able to pick up positive frugal signings, it could be hard for them to get him away from Newcastle. Benitez has done a great job on Tyneside, however, the club could be sold over the summer which could potentially leave Benitez in the cold.

Other early names on the list of next West Ham managers include former Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boa, Unai Emery, Claudio Ranieri, Marco Silva and of course Arsene Wenger.
