NFL MVP and Fringe Markets – American Football Betting

Rodgers could outshine older rivals to prove himself NFL MVP

Sports Betting

With the new NFL season kicking off in just a few days time, there are a whole host of fringe markets available outside the AFC and NFC Conference outright betting and odds for the numerous divisions.

One market that will attract plenty of interest is the MVP (Most Valuable Player) in the NFL 2018 Awards. This coveted prize pretty much always goes to a quarterback and one at a team that will go far in the race to SuperBowl.

AARON RODGERS’ season last year was curtailed by a broken collarbone but the Green Bay Packers’ QB has looked good in training and pre-season which suggests there is no hangover. With TOM BRADY no longer in the full flush of youth, Rodgers is quite simply the best QB in the NFL when fully fit. It’s hard to see the Packers not progressing to the play-offs and beyond this winter and their main man can eclipse the Patriots’ veteran. Rodgers is a best 7/1 to be the 2018 MVP compared the 6/1 available with William Hill for Brady.

The only other QB with any hope of outshining Rodgers and Brady is probably New Orleans Saints’ DREW BREES (14/1 with several bookmakers to be MVP) but he would need to match and even surpass his exploits of last season to get close to the aforementioned pair.

Betfred have also produced a market to be Defensive MVP in the Regular NFL Season and have Los Angeles Rams’ AARON DONALD among their favourites at 6/1. Donald has just signed a six-year multi-million dollar contract making him the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history but this is a prize that will be fiercely contested.

Six-foot five JOEY BOSA, just across the city of angels at the Los Angeles Chargers, is also 6/1 and Denver Broncos’ VON MILLER is 10/1. At bigger Odds, Jacksonville Jaguars’ JALEN RAMSEY and Saints’ defensive end CAMERON JORDAN (16/1 and 25/1 respectively) make some appeal in this market and BOBBY WAGNER of the Seattle Seahawks is 33/1 but may not get as much media coverage as his contemporaries.
