Norwich News and Form

Norwich collected a point from a 1-1 draw out at West Brom last weekend in a big clash in the Championship. That leaves Norwich on a four-match winless streak of form now in the second tier (D3 L1). It has been just one win from Norwich in their last six played and that slip of form has started look costly for them because they have fallen to third place in the table. Norwich’s overall form at home in the Championship this season is W8 D1 L4 which is pretty strong.

But with that said Norwich have lost three of their four home games this season against sides currently in the top eight. Norwich have scored well on home soil, firing off 26 goals at Carrow Road. But they have been anything but watertight at the back as they have shipped a total of 22 home goals. That has all played its part in 62% of league matches at Carrow Road this season having finished over 2.5 goals.

46% of their home games have made over the 3.5 goal-line. Norwich have taken a clean sheet in 31% of their home games which is not a bad return. Six of the eight home wins that they have recorded in the Championship this season have been by a one-goal margin only.

Norwich have scored at least two goals in each of their last five so that has been pretty strong trend from them. But on the flip side of that Norwich have conceded at least two goals in each of their last three Championship fixtures. Of the goals that they have produced this season home and away combined, 78% of them have been after the halftime break in fixtures.

Norwich v Birmingham Head to Head

There was a 2-2 draw between these two back at the start of August
The Canaries are unbeaten in four league games against the Blues (W3 D1)
Birmingham have lost their last two visits to Carrow Road to nil
Both teams have scored in just one of the last six meetings

Key-Facts – Norwich v Birmingham

  • All but two of Norwich’s home wins this season have been by a one goal margin
  • Norwich will be looking to extend their unbeaten streak of form to 5 against Birmingham
  • The Blues are currently riding a four match undefeated streak away from home

Birmingham News and Form

The Blues had a tough game last weekend as they suffered a defeat against Middlesbrough. Middlesbrough are, like Norwich, a current top-five side. So that leaves Birmingham sitting just outside of the playoffs heading into the weekend, looking to make up a four-point gap to the top six. The loss against Middlesbrough also snapped a good five-match unbeaten streak of form that Birmingham were on (W2 D3)

Birmingham have an away record of W4 D5 L4 this season and they are undefeated in each of their last four away games, winning two of those. Birmingham have scored in each of their last nine away games in the Championship and they have also been winning at half-time in five of their away games (D4 L4). Of the goals which they have conceded on their travels 62% of them have come after the halftime break.

Birmingham have put 17 goals on the board away from home and they have conceded 16 on their travels. Less than 50% of Birmingham’s away games in the Championship this season have made over 2.5 goals. The Blues have actually taken a clean sheet in half of their last four away games and overall this season have taken four clean sheets on their travels. The Blues have opened the scoring in eight of their 13 away games and they currently have the fifth best defensive record in the Championship.
