Norwich News and Form – Can the Canaries beat Man Utd?

Norwich earned a good point out at Bournemouth last weekend in a 0-0 draw. That gave Norwich their first clean sheet of this campaign. So that will be a big boost for them. Norwich have taken a W2 L2 record at Carrow Road this season in the top flight, with the wins there happening against Newcastle and Manchester City. Norwich scored exactly three goals in both of those wins.

All four of Norwich’s home games this season have gone over 3.5 goals. Three of the four have gone over 4.5 goals. The Canaries have produced nine goals at home this season, while they have conceded at an average of 2.75 goals per game. Norwich have only been losing at half time in one of their home games (W2 D1) and they will probably come out an attack United here.

Norwich have only opened the scoring twice this season and they do hold the joint-worst defensive record in the league, having conceded 21 goals in nine games. Their overall goal scoring has dried up a bit as they have scored just one goal in their last four games. Three of those four games were away from home though. Norwich have taken just one point from their last 12 available though and are rooted in the drop zone.

Manchester United News and Form – Can Man Utd net an away win?

It is only two points above the drop zone that Manchester United are at. A loss at Carrow Road on the weekend and Norwich will move level on points with them. The Red Devils did a lot better last weekend as they held Liverpool to a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford. United showed plenty of fight and commitment in the game. Still, overall they are only W2 D4 L3 this season in the top flight.

They are not a convincing attacking unit at all, with them still not having managed to score more than one goal in a game since their season opener against Chelsea. The Red Devils have not scored in their last two away games either, both of which ended in losses at West Ham and Newcastle. Manchester United have only scored two away goals this season and none of their away games have gone over 2.5 goals. .

Manchester United have been leading at half time in two of their four away games, which is surprising considering they have not won on the road (D2 L2). That leads to an obvious conclusion that they have struggled defensively in the second half of games. 80% of the away goals that they have conceded this season have indeed, been in the second half of fixtures. Manchester United have yet to score a second half away goal this season.

Norwich v Manchester United Predictions

Man Utd to win: An interesting game, because Norwich like to attack teams at Carrow Road. Manchester United are far from being a complete unit at the moment but they could get some change out of a poor Norwich defence. United to win by a 1 goal margin.
