Nottingham Forest News and Form – Reds to hit back after two defeats in a week?

Before last weekend’s games, Nottingham Forest were joint top of the Championship table with West Bromwich Albion. Fast forward two matchdays; the Reds are now in eighth after suffering two shock defeats on the spin.

Last Sunday, Sabri Lamouchi’s men come up short at the DW Stadium, losing 1-0 to Wigan Athletic. They followed that up with a 2-1 home loss to Hull City on Wednesday evening. Hull went 2-0 up at the City Ground, and Matty Cash’s goal seven minutes after the break was no more than a consolation. That was Forest’s first home reverse since losing to West Brom on the opening weekend.

 

 

The last week has been a shock to system for Nottingham Forest, who had made such a stunning start to their league campaign. Nevertheless, the Reds will be looking to hit back with a home win this Saturday.

Reading have won just one of their last eight in the Championship. However, after crashing to five defeats in six, the Royals have taken four points from their last two league encounters under new boss Mark Bowen.

Reading followed up their 1-0 home win over Preston North End with a battling 2-2 draw away at in-form Queens Park Rangers last Tuesday. It was a real thriller at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium, with Reading coming from behind twice to pick up a handy point on the road. However, the Berkshire club have secured just one win from seven away league games up until now.

Reading seem to have turned a corner under Bowen, at least for now. With three of the next four at home after Saturday’s trip to the City Ground, can the Royals start climbing up the Championship table?
