Paddy Power has paid out on the Conor McGregor v Floyd Mayweather Jr boxing bout taking place. There has been growing speculation in the press that an official announcement is about to be made and the bookmaker decided to jump the gun and just pay out.

They pulled the plug on the market this week after cutting the odds on the somewhat controversial fight to happen to 1/100 which came about after reports surfaced that a venue had already been booked for the super fight (probably Las Vegas) between Mayweather, one of boxing’s legends and UFC fighter McGregor.

The payout will cost Paddy Power €1,500, with the biggest individual winner collecting €382 having placed €200 on the box office clash happening at 10/11 back in January.

Asked about the payout on the super fight spokesperson Paddy Power, said: “This saga has seen more changes than McGregor’s outfits but it now looks a done deal and we’ve decided to throw in the towel.

“The fight looks set to be the biggest in history and might even eclipse both men’s egos.”
