Royal Pagaille 3/1 FAV in Peter Marsh Handicap Chase Racing Odds

One of the leading contenders for this year’s Peter Marsh renewal is Royale Pagaille at 3/1* (odds recorded at 08:39 GMT on January 21st, 2022 at Bet365).

He banked such a progressive season last term that he should be in with a chance of follow up here in this particular race.

Royal Pagaille was 7lb lower when he won the 2021 Peter Marsh. That’s an indicator of how far he has come.

There was a big, rapid hattrick completed by him last season and he should be better this term for having had his reappearance.

That was a good runner-up spot in the Betfair Chase here at Haydock.

With the conditions in his favour, this is lined up for a bold run from him.

Remastered ready for a challenge

Another who came on leaps and bounds last season was REMASTERED who poses a threat in this contest.

On his penultimate run, Remastered looked to be in the hunt at the Ladbrokes Trophy.

But a fall four from home ended his challenge there at Newbury.

Up until that point he was running with great credit and should get himself heavily involved in this one.

There was a course and distance second-place finish for Remastered a month ago on his latest.

Remastered can make his presence felt from 9/2 in Peter Marsh Handicap Chase odds* (odds recorded at 08:39 GMT on January 21st, 2022 at Bet365).

Empire Steel could bounce back

There was a fall for EMPIRE STEEL on his latest run, which was a month ago at Wetherby.

To be fair, luck hasn’t been on his side too much since his return.

Empire Steel found himself up against a superb thriving one at course and distance on his reappearance.

He had to settle for second place in that, in a race which looked like he would have won on any other day.

Then on his latest, he failed to complete at Wetherby through no fault of his own.

If there is a clear round coming from Empire Steel on Saturday, he has the jumping form to get involved.

Empire Steel is a current 5/1 quote in horse racing betting* (odds recorded at 08:39 GMT on January 21st, 2022 at Bet365).

Lord Du Mesnil no forlorn hope

LORD DU MESNIL just looks to be seeking a slice of fortune to get a win.

There was a clear revival from him last time out from this classy chaser as he was a runner up at the Rowland Meyrick.

The ability is still there. If this boils down to a test of stamina, then Lord Du Mesnil is no forlorn hope.

He has an abundance of that and he did claim a win at Haydock last season.

That was in the Grand National Trial.

Lord Du Mesnil comes up 2lb for Saturday which does make this tougher.

He goes at a current quote of 7/1* (odds recorded at 08:39 GMT on January 21st, 2022 at Bet365).

Can Lake View Lad get involved?

This is a deep field for this Peter Marsh renewal and LAKE VIEW LAD could have place claims.

There is a hint that he’s sitting on a reasonable mark for Saturday.

Granted the veteran 12-year-old is not as sharp as once he was.

But there was some nice stamina shown from him to take fourth at the Rowland Meyrick on Boxing Day.

He is likely going to need more in this one, but as for place claims, they’re not unreasonable if the race goes his way.

Lake View Lad is at a quote of 10/1 to take the win* (odds recorded at 08:39 GMT on January 21st, 2022 at Bet365).

The rest of the runners

KALOOKI enters on the back of a win and is not to be dismissed on Saturday. He banked a victory at Doncaster on a 3m trip last month. This longer trip could see even more from him and the cheekpieces go on for the first time.

ALNADAM has had a couple of credible runs this season. The most recent was a third place in a Cheltenham Grade 3. Stamina has to be in question a bit for Saturday though.

FORTESCUE ended last season on a high with a couple of wins. There was a nice runner-up at Kempton for him a month ago. He goes from 3lb out of the handicap in a much tougher race.

SAM’S ADVENTURE is a long way out of the handicap for Saturday. There has been next to no form from him this season. This looks beyond him at the moment.

Predictions & Tips for Peter Marsh Handicap Chase Racing Odds

This should be a very good contest with some excellent claims knocking around for a few of these.

The first one to get on the shortlist is race favourite ROYALE PAGAILLE from 3/1* (odds recorded at 08:39 GMT on January 21st, 2022 at Bet365).

His Betfair Chase performance on his reappearance puts him in very good stead for this one.

He may be very tough to knock over as he looks for a title defence.

EMPIRE STEEL can’t be counted out of this as he genuinely looks as if he has plenty more to offer in this sphere.

He may well have won at Wetherby last time out if he hadn’t gone down.

The final shortlisted one is LORD DU MESNIL. If the course gets a bit heavier on Saturday then he should come into this more. He has the stamina to get in the mix.
