PGA Deutsche Bank Championship Golf Betting Info
It is week two of the 2012 FedExCup Play offs as the remaining 100 players head to TPC Boston. Some big names have dropped like Henrik Stenson, Robert Allenby and Davis Love II, but the big guns are still around. Nick Watney jumped to the top of the FedExCup standings with his win last week at the Barclays. That pushed Tiger Woods down into third, one place above Rory McIlroy and both of these will be looking for a bounce back performance this week. Brandt Snedeker sneaked into second, but there are less than 1,000 points separating the top four. So now it is on to Boston and the challenge of the par 71. This is a pretty easy scoring track so we can expect plenty of excitement this week. The distance is around 7,200 yards so a manageable distance without having to really pull out the stops with the driver, so the main thing to look for this week is greens in regulation because birdie chances should really be put down.

PGA Deutsche Bank Championship Golf Betting Defending Champion
Webb Simpson, who had a remarkable season last year, carded a -15 under par at the Deutsche Bank last season, but needed a play-off to do it. Had a disappointing turn out last week though, as Simpson missed the cut at The Barclays following a 73 in the second round. That was the second missed cut in three tournaments, his fourth in the last eight. It has been a strange season for the US Open winner this season, showing such promise at times and just looking well off his game at others. Consistency is a problem for Simpson at the moment, but the confidence of having won here last year may bring the best out of him. Simpson goes as a 33/1 shot at online bookmaker Bet365 for this one though. Just can’t be backed with total confidence at the moment, a stark contrast to this time last year.

PGA Deutsche Bank Championship Golf Betting Favourite
We have joint favourites this week again for golf betting, as Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy duke it out for supremacy. Tiger Woods was looking solid, if not totally comfortable during The Barclays. Woods just struggled to find his rhythm over the weekend and after a 72 on Saturday, he carded a 76 on Sunday which pushed him right back out to a T38 finish which was one over par. He has won the Deutsche Bank before, way back in 2006. So he has history here by the will need to improve his simple tee to green golf from over the weekend. It doesn’t suggest that there is anything really wrong with his game and we have seen his winning form this season often enough. There are going to be plenty of scoring chances coming his way and this will be his seventh appearance at TPC Boston where he has a good track record. He has only finished outside of the top eleven once in his six appearance at the course so far.

Rory McIlroy had a mixed four days at The Barclays, and the thing which was not working for him was his putter. He wasn’t looking comfortable or convincing with the putter, he still had enough of a game to land a T24 finish. The positive aspect of McIlroy’s game was that he was great in hitting the greens and he will probably have an easier time converting birdie chances this week compared to last. He is ranked second in birdie average on the PGA at the moment and he hits the amount of greens in regulation as he did at The Barclays, then he will be up there. Both Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy can be taken for a price of 10/1 with online bookmaker Bet365.

Other Contenders
Another strong field out in attendance this week and we will start with a look at Bubba Watson. Watson put in a T10 performance last week at The Barclays and he is not even playing at his very best. His stats on the PGA this term have been very good, he has been superb with the iron work. Watson is known for his distance off the tee and ball manipulation in the air. He didn’t find accuracy off the tee last week but should be better than that. Has also been brilliant in converting birdie chances this season as well. If he finds accuracy with the driver then he is going to be a good contender.

Brandt Snedeker has to warrant a look as he was the only man in the field of 125 last week to card four rounds all under par. He also has tremendous form at TPC Boston as well to back up a decision of getting a wager down on him. He finished T3 here last season and the season before landed a T5. Not particularly strong with his iron work in getting to the green but once he is there then he knows how to convert. Should be brimming with confidence at the moment and well worth looking at.

Another with good form at TPC Boston is England’s Luke Donald. He put in a solid performance at The Barclays for a T10 finish In pretty good form again this season but with two finishes inside the top three at TPC Boston in his last pair of outings, should put him in good stead. He and Snedeker look strong candidates for a Top Ten Finish bet at the very least. Donald has hit seven top ten finishes this season on the PGA and should be carrying himself well throughout the play-offs The course fits him well and he should be challenging, no reason why he should not be.

Dustin Johnson went well at The Barclays as expected, using his length well. Has won a Play Off tournament in each of the last two season and he picked up a third place last season at TPC Boston. Johnson backed up his accurate distances with superb iron work and he has a best finish of fourth in this event back in 2009. Since coming back from a three month lay off earlier in the season, Johnson has been ticking along very nicely and getting better and better as he goes. Has a win under his belt for the season and could well double it up.

There are other major options in the field, like Jason Dufner, Matt Kuchar, Nick Watney, Bo Van Pelt and Adam Scott. So the choices are plenty and therefore it will be worth tracking the action with live in play betting as well as seriously looking at narrower options in Top Ten Finish betting.

Best Outside Bet
England’s Lee Westwood is going to be a bit of a dark horse throughout the play offs. Westwood hit a T5 last week at Bethpage on the back of some big short game improvements. However, he still missed his fair share of greens in regulation but there was more of a composed look about his game. This is his first venture into the FedExCup play-offs and this is also his first time at TPC Boston. Therefore not going to attract strong wagers, but has the game to break through the field.
