PGA John Deere Classic Golf Betting Info
The par 71 TPC Deere Run is owned by one man, not literally of course, but in golf terms and that is Steve Stricker. There is usually some very strong scores posted at this event, highlighted by a 26 under par record set by Stricker in 2010. There are birdie chances all over the TPC Deere Run and its 7,268 yards and it was the fourth easiest PGA track to score on last year. So that simply adds up to excitement over the weekend, and whoever is going to take this will have to be hotter than hot with the putter, because the chances come easily and someone will have to stand out. Finding the greens really is not much of a problem at all, so who is going to take their chances with the putter? A good field in attendance, but everything really is being dominated by Stricker wherever you look.

PGA John Deere Classic Golf Betting Defending Champion and Outright Favourite
Steve Stricker is the man at the John Deere. He has won the title here three consecutive times in a row, and he could join an exclusive list of players who have won the same tournament four times in a row. But that is what the American is lined up to do, and he usually plays well after the US Open. Steve Stricker has just dominated this course over the previous years, and with an average of around 65 over the last twelve rounds at TPC Deere Run, he is going to be the man to beat without question. Things were narrow last year for Stricker, who won by one stroke over Kyle Stanley, but it was confident, strong finish that got him there in the end. He is in good enough form to get the job done, with four ten tens this year. Has posted six sub seventy round in the last eight, including going under on each of his four rounds at the Greenbrier Classic. Steve Stricker is 7/1 favourite with online bookmaker Bet365.

Other Contenders
Not a man in any great kind of form particularly, but has good history at the TPC Deere Run nonetheless. In two of his last outings at the John Deere, he has posted top three finishes, so he is a good fit with the course. Good enough with the putter to contend, that’s why and he is sitting fifth on the Tour for strokes gained putting. He had a hot stretch from mid April to the end of May, collecting two top two finishes and a win at the Crowne Plaza Invitational Has fell well away since then in this last three outings, but if he rediscovers his confidence on a track that he likes and is familiar with, then it should be game on.

Jonathan Byrd is on a bit of a hot streak at the moment and could be worth riding. He also has prior at the TPC Deere Run as well, because was a winner back in 2007. He has made the cut in each of his last seven starts on the Tour this season, and was hot at the Greenbrier Classic in taking birdies chances. If he carries this momentum over here this week then he is going to be a serious contender. Already has five top ten finishes for the season. A win has eluded him so far, but has been very consistent and solid and one shouldn’t be too far away at all. With all the opportunities to be taken at the Deere Run, he could well shine brightly this weekend.

Jeff Overton is shaping up nicely as well with a bit of consistency behind him. He hasn’t played here for the last three years though, but has hit three top twenty five finishes in a row heading to the Deere Run. Included in that was a top twenty finish at the Greenbrier Classic, and while his approach work does need a bit of sharpening up, he is one of those who takes chances when they come his way. The question is, will he be able to create enough of them along the way amongst a field of other low scorers?

Ryan Palmer is another in great form at the moment, with four top ten finishes in his last six starts. Not bad at all and landed a top fifteen finish at the AT&T National which was his last outing. Strangely enough though, he hasn’t really performed that well at TPC Deere Run before and has missed the cut on four of the seven times he has played here. However, he is just scoring so well at the moment and working well with the putter to ignore.

Best Outside Bet
For a man of Nick Watney’s calibre, it hasn’t been too much of a productive season, with three top tens out of 16 events this season He fired in a tenth spot finish at the AT&T National at the start of July when his all round game looked much better. He looked a bit more comfortable with what he was doing. Hopefully he can build on that, and the price on him to do so in the field offers decent value to. Nick Watney is 22/1 at Bet365.
