PGA Tour Phoenix Open Golf Betting Favourite – John Rahm 15/2

Spain’s Jon Rahm is the current 15/2 favourite in Phoenix Open golf betting odds* (odds recorded at 21:12 GMT on February 8th, 2022 at 888Sport).

This is something of a home track for Rahm having attended Arizona State University. There is an infinity there.

Rahm has had a top 16 finish in his last five visits to the tournament.

As an amateur, he took a T5 at the tournament.

Rahm is the number one ranked player in the world at the moment and has had a cracking in 2022 already.

There was a runner up finish for him at the Sentry Tournament of Champions in January and in his latest effort, Rahm took T3 at the Farmers Insurance Open.

He’s in form and returning to a track that he knows and loves. It’s fair to say that the Spaniard is expected to go pretty well.

Main Contenders PGA Tour Phoenix Open Golf Betting

JUSTIN THOMAS is the 12/1 second-favourite in PGA Golf betting odds* (odds recorded at 21:12 GMT on February 8th, 2022 at 888Sport).

He has made the cut in each of his last four visits to TPC Scottsdale and has banked a couple of T3 results in the process.

He looks a natural fit for a big challenge here as he has averaged under 68 per round across his last four visits to Arizona.

HIDEKI MATSUYAMA can’t be overlooked. The current FedexCup points leader knows a thing or two about how to play the course.

He is the second-highest all-time earner in the Phoenix Open, having scored back to back wins in 2016 and 2017 at the tournament. Matsuyama has banked to win this season on the PGA Tour as well.

XANDER SCHAUFFELE was well in contention heading into the final round of the 2021 Phoenix Open. He could close out, having to settle for a share of second place.

But a return after a good top twenty finish at the Saudi Invite last week could see Schauffele play his way into contention.

VIKTOR HOVLAND arrived in Arizona after a short break. He claimed a win before that in Dubai after carding a top-five finish in Abu Dhabi the week before that.

Hovland claimed two titles at the end of 2021 to end that season. He looks to have picked up where he left off. This will be just his second appearance at TPC Scottsdale having missed the cut on his previous.

BROOKS KOEPKA is the defending champion at the Phoenix Open. Last year’s title was the second time he won the event, so it is well worth a look for golf betting. He hasn’t quite been on it this season but could have top ten claims.

PGA Tour Phoenix Open Golf Outsiders

LOUIS OOSTHUIZEN makes his return after a long layoff since November last year. But if his A-game is there, then he can’t be written out of this. He was a T11 at last year’s edition and earned a solo third in 2017.

MATT FITZPATRICK enters the action at the Phoenix Open for the first time. But the Englishman arrives in decent nick after taking a T6 at Pebble Beach earlier this month.

ANDREW PUTMAN is seeking his second PGA tour success. His results have been heading in the right direction this year, culminating in a T6 at Pebble Beach last time out. He also took a top ten finish last year at TPC Scottsdale.

PGA Tour Phoenix Open Golf Prediction

It’s hard to ignore the presence of JON RAHM who is the 15/2 favourite in Phoenix Open golf betting odds* (odds recorded at 21:12 GMT on February 8th, 2022 at 888Sport).

This is his home course in the US and has consistently gone well at the venue on his previous appearances. The man of the moment could shine once again.

PATRICK CANTLAY has taken a run of five straight top-ten finishes with his current form and has to be worth a look at 14/1* (odds recorded at 21:12 GMT on February 8th, 2022 at 888Sport).

The outsider pick is going to be a 125/1 look at ANDEW PUTNAM* (odds recorded at 21:12 GMT on February 8th, 2022 at 888Sport). He has been going in the right direction and potentially building nicely for that second Tour title.
